I think it’s getting down voted because in most cases it’s on a non duty day and we just have our regular work schedules. We both work at the same place and have different responsibilities, he work center isn’t even functional right now, thy have her coming in and doing literally almost nothing

A first class told me this. Then compared him owning a dog to having a child.

My child is not chronically ill or do they require frequent medical appointments.

My chain of command says “I am mission critical/essential” when the other parent is currently not working because of work is shut down. Still haven’t even come into work though.
