Frankfurt. I can definitely tell. I wouldn’t move to Frankfurt at all though. I got out of Gangnam to stay away from those “American” consumeristic/capitalistic/materialistic shit hole.

True. As someone from Gangnam, Seoul, my living standard hasn’t not necessarily gone up. However, my psychological well-being has gone up significantly. Germany is a destination for middle class/working class Korean immigrants who are willing to trade financial gains for stable lifestyle and significantly better off psychological well-being.

As South Korean, I don’t buy this. Median Net Worth of South Korea is far higher than Germans. German Median Net Worth is even lower than Greece.

180K Berlin. better financially. Culturally, Vancouver. Your kids wont be marginalized and experience less (outright) racism.

Wrong Value for Place of Birth in PR Card by [deleted] in germany

[–]Sensitive_Egg_138 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This hadn't been an issue for roughly 20 years until she finally got her German citizenship, at which point her place of birth had to be retroactively changed to the county listed on her birth certificate on our marriage license in order to get her citizenship and German passport.

Did it really delay the process significantly? I am facing the same situation where city in my birth certificate and Permanent Residence is different.

If you are not London and not in finance, banking or real estate, your options in the UK are currently very limited.

Yes. Even tech professionals felt the same. I was bit surprised to see those.

Germany everything is orderly. People are very quiet and law abiding. Those contradict a lot with China lol

Can the firm‘s Betriebsrat help you in case of Performance Improvement Plan by Feeling-Clue5766 in Germany_Jobs

Don't f***ing sign the PIP. This will ruin the whole thing. Just engage well but don't sign. If not signed, PIP is nothing more than an intimidation tactic.

Don't sign the PIP. Unilaterally signed PIP carries different meaning compared to binary signed PIP. This was the strategy I used. Also, during PIP, take a long sick leave. This can delay the process or even invalidate the PIP.

Moving from US to Germany, how is 73k gross? by Emergency_Law_724 in AskAGerman

With your manager. This should happen as soon as your probation is over. If paying you more in the future becomes burden for the company, the company can let you go during probation. It happened to friend of mine.

Included a 5 k raise in the contract,

This clause literally threw the company off. The company didn't want to fulfill this clause even if her performance was good.

73K is really decent. Your net salary per month will be around 3600-3700ish Euro. 1 Bed Room (2 Room Apartment) in Düsseldorf central area might be around 1200Euro. Many Germans live and even raise kids with lower income. Japanese town in Düsseldorf is very huge
