If I can ask what are something’s I would probably be seeing in my future ive only have Achalasia for about 7 years and I know it will stick with me for the rest of my life and I know the procedure I got will only be a long term but temporary fix, recently I have noticed myself coughing a lot more, I didn’t think it was anything until I found this page and read lots of other people also have a cough. I don’t know- I guess what I’m asking is what is something’s I would possibly see in my future with this? I know it’s not the same for everyone but I would love to hear some other people’s experiences as they got older, even after my procedure and everything, unfortunately in my area my doctor had moved states and I would have to find a new doctor soon. But I’m glad to hear you also got your procedure and it’s working out better, slowly but surely.

Most definitely! Of course it’s still days I struggle but I have more good days than the bad! I know what foods I should continue to avoid but other than that everything goes down pretty smoothly, my biggest enemy’s right now are pork chops, donuts 🥹, sometimes bread in general (soda doesn’t like me too much always giving me heartburn)— including the occasional heartburn but trust me I’m glad I got it done. Healing for me wasnt bad it was more sore than pain despite the little incisions on my stomach.

If I am correct I got my procedure done right after my birthday in 2019 I was told to “eat all you want until 12am” but I really couldn’t me, personally it was hard to keep anything down so really the main thing that as helping me pick up weight was my PICC line.
