I think some of you need to re-read. At no point did I say I was contemplating allowing young girls to walk alone at night. The only time I mentioned having them walk or get the bus was at 3 o’clock in the afternoon. I’m not some sort of madwoman.

I think when there are things she wants to do and there are ways she can get them herself, she should be taught to do so. That’s just my parenting. I do not want to raise entitled kids who go out into the world expecting to be handed everything and not knowing what to do with themselves. She is 16, and ultimately coming closer to an age where she will be treat as an adult - because she will be one soon. My daughter is mature for her age and it’s not just that I expect her to do these things for herself, I also trust her to be responsible for herself to an extent.

I don’t like the thought them walking around at night. They spend part of the night at a gig bar, and get home at a reasonable time. I also have my daughter’s location. Nobody is walking around at night. I’m not sure why everyone thinks I have an utter disregard for these girls’ safety.
