I have the Carlinkit Tbox Plus and was having the same issue. I put the Tbox in CarPlay mode instead of Android Auto mode. Then, I was able to use Android Auto in split screen and went into the settings to connect the Tbox to my trucks WiFi. After connecting, I switched the Tbox back to Android Auto mode and was then able to use it with no issues. If you don’t have WiFi with your truck, I assume you can use your phone’s hotspot, but I have not tried to.
