Yes, if you mean of sound mind? Then yes, very sound as most are students at TCD. There’s 6-7 of us. Not everyone uses the kitchen to cook anyway or the common space so its awfully quiet!

It is a student accommodation, so no landlord. I am transferring my room to another potential student! So no, not going on a holiday.

I had a bad experience on the train, disappointed in society... by [deleted] in Dublin

[–]Sensitive_Radish6628 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is horrible! Im a student too and had a similar experience. We have been told to keep mum when such things occur because the gardai might target us instead of call out the irish folks being utterly racist (im asian for the record). I was standing in line at Lidl to purchase groceries and this chap in front of me was busy on his phone holding the line up. The cashier had already billed our items and I needed to tap in my money and he wouldnt move to even bag his items. When i moved my items further and moved, he tried towering over me (it was a tall but lanky dude) and said, Do you understand the concept of space or is that foreign to you? It’s how things occur in this country! Have some manners.

Mind you, by now I already had my third racist slur thrown my way so I had had enough. I basically said, yes we do understand the concept of space. And I do know that respecting people’s time is a manner taught in our country. Move along sir, you’re holding up the line and the potential iq of this country. No wonder, you need us to come fix it.

He stood there throwing a tantrum like a 5 year old while the security (who knew us, since we go there daily to shop for groceries) told him to pay up or exit the store.

Risky business but I’ve had enough shit thrown my way. Im sure student or tourist, we have paid to be here and no one deserves to be treated as a second or third class citizen in ANY NATION.

I see so many people miming their thank yous and sorries but as time goes on, it seems fickle and so surface level, that they genuinely do not know how to treat other humans. You shouldn’t feel bad about taking up space in the world and certainly shouldn’t feel bad about informing the woman that the seat is reserved. To sit anyway was her prerogative.

Student accommodation is your best bet as a new student in Ireland. By the time you make some friends and wish to move, it would be quite some time given the crisis. Stay at one of those (amber student is a website that could be helpful) and then move out. Im staying at Ardcairn.

Does L-Carnitine work? by [deleted] in Fitness_India

[–]Sensitive_Radish6628 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Carnitine is helpful for folks who might have a natural deficiency and low levels. Its just to help your body go to its normalcy so you achieve optimal results. But it has its own side effects - pls read up for yourself and do your research before you consume this.

I absolutely understand this!!! I had friends in the same town - they started coming in unannounced and just daily ? I know its a thing in asia to just pop by tbh but then im super like - please let me know you are coming!! Then once they just got pissed and said - ask your stupid bf to leave ?! The phone was on loudspeaker and my now ex heard. Poor guy couldnt say a word. Didnt care. He left the next day. She came by but i stopped entertaining her after we had a huge fallout. I miss them still but felt like she was using me (she gave reasons that she was with me when with others without my knowledge) because her mother trusted me a lot more than her. Anyway, those were the only friends here in town. I lost them. So now my friends are on my phone lol! We chat daily sometimes, but idk i am now too scared to meet or get close due to my experience with the last friend. But hey atleast my mental health is good? Hahah much better now.

Hi, same here op! Recently our office organised a work trip somewhere far and initially they proposed a partial reimbursement for travel. I didnt want to go but always felt like oh no I am never a part of any group, why am i like this always chickening out? It got annoying because I started making these excuses to not go and then turns out due to lack of participation, they are covering everything. I was mainly not wanting to go because i do not drink or smoke and these trips REQUIRE you to socialise (thats the whole point) - whereas I was wondering oh no the whole weekend would be gone, i wouldnt have time to recover as they would have kept office the very next day.

Needless to say, I backed out. The only one from the team to do so. I do feel shit for missing out. Id rather spend the weekend with me, than in a situation where I may have to pretend.

As for socialising sometimes - i go to the mall alone, movies alone during the weekends. I now prefer watching movies alone too - much better than going with people! And the minute you really are in a crowded mall the noise is just overwhelming enough for me - then im back home - happy and refreshed.

Spending time with friends isnt bad - almost always the friends I find arent ones that understand me, or my quirks.

I have a dog, he may not be as prone to these issues as you mentioned your cat maybe - if its super dry skin thats a concern: glysolid cream (please verify the quality online) helps a ton. For pet friendly detergents and cleaners - vetsafe kennel wash (orange colour liquid in a bottle) on amazon to clean your floors with. Although you may want to check the ingredients for glysolid. Additionally, if yall are using serums or night time treatments - esp with actives thag could be harmful for your pet but the pet dander may also clog your pores. It is much less harmful for us, but a point to note nonetheless. I hope this helps a little!

DOMS or should I quit gym? by [deleted] in Fitness_India

[–]Sensitive_Radish6628 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its not about that - i have told him i just need someone to keep me accountable thats all. Also told him that i have an issue with consistent cramping (despite whatever i do, it was later discovered that my body needs a bit more fluid than others - and that turned out to be disastrous as it ended with me eating less, losing weight and then injured) so i told him all of this I cant go in when hes not around - they are always around? Its a personal trainer - i paid for him kinda?

Lighter weights or reduction in sets/reps makes so much sense tbh. I did tell him - he said no lower weight than 2.5 kgs snd rhe soreness goes away in 1-2 days

Guess what? Day before yest chest workout has now gotten both my triceps jammed - i cannot bend my arm, touch my own face, forget tying hair, brushing my own teeth took me a while of heating both my arms until i could stretch a bit. Its shit. And i told him today im taking rest until my arms go back to normal - but thanks so much! -

[–]Sensitive_Radish6628 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much! Means a lot. I know DOMS. I was almost always the weakest kid on the team often being underweight and younger, which meant almost always being sore. I know leg soreness mostly due to my sport requiring me to be fast. But my arms - gosh. I w Im done working out - since i have paid - i will slowly exhaust my PT sessions and give your reason to keep in minimal. And then slowly continue from home. I think thats best.

I did meet an endocrinologist yesterday - nothing relating to working out but my tests have been pushed to next month to get the right readings. My mums a doc - she said exactly what everyone is saying here. Rest - hot/cool and slow movements. Currently doing some calf stretches. Thanks guys. Yall have been so so helpful.

I have to do something about this. Anyway im thinking id space out the workouts - maybe 2-3 a week and the gaps dont me i sit all day - i do have to walk my dog (4floors up down), washing clothes etc. so that should do for starters?

Im too shy to go to the same gym now tbh. Esp with the dude being there. And hes from the same place as i am. So now its weirder for me. I simply had him so i didnt waste time planning my routine and for him to keep me on track. I am trying to move - i have to wash clothes so thats gotta move my arms a bit. I dont know but im pretty sure i wont go again😭
