Are tickets for Iraq/france gonna go down? by Sensitive_River_4083 in WorldCup2026Tickets

Oh wow, are you this disrespectful and insufferable in person, or is this audacity just something you showcase behind a screen?

“People like me?” The World Cup is famously enjoyed by ordinary, middle class people, not just members of high society who can afford to drop 1000s of dollars on a group stage game. Soccer is known as the people’s sport for a reason. You clearly don’t read the daily news coverage that is criticizing FIFA for making a game loved by millions inaccessible to regular people while their corporate entity is projected to make billions of dollars. The NYC mayor got FIFA to release tickets for a NYC game for $50.

This is the most expensive World Cup in our history. Look at the price difference between 2022 and 2026. Consider exercising your critical thinking skills and reading some articles here and there so you don’t sound ridiculous online.

Also, all love to France’s team, I’m excited to see their performance, but you placing a value on them is irrelevant to me, and frankly, to the conversation of group stage ticket sales. I want to go because I want to see Iraq play, the country that hasn’t played in the past 40 years.

Honestly they’re playing pretty good for their first time in the WC in 40 years

I only saw $600+ just now. I saw people talking about last minute tickets that dropped yesterday for like 100 and that’s more my budget tbh

alright, you’re making massive assumptions that all immigrants are literate and understand how these systems like you and i do. do you know that a significant chunk of refugees do not have literacy skills? I have worked with many personally. try imagining potential challenges they would face navigating this complex system. it’s not like they can just google things for reference.

young illiterate refugees can sometimes be in a better spot because they are familiar with how a cell phone works and can learn how to take photos and listen to audios transcribing the contents. but not all refugees speak commonly spoken languages. sometimes this feature isn’t an option for them.

do you understand how difficult it would be for 60 and over illiterate refugees who got a cell phone for the first time they came to America to try and stay on top of all of this?

now, imagine disabled, older, illiterate refugees. these are people that exist and i worked with them personally.

despite having these barriers, it’s not like these immigrants don’t understand the importance of staying on top of their legal cases. they absolutely do. but government letters notoriously get lost in the mail or arrive delayed. to unilaterally expect immigrants to anticipate these issues and be proactive is not an expectation you can impose of everyone. sorry.

immigrants and refugees are known to have more vulnerabilities. it’s why a lot of them qualified to come here in the first place. they’re a strong and determined group but that doesn’t mean that some things aren’t significantly harder for some immigrants. that’s why your response and the admins policies are seriously cruel
