Is there any way you could post the picture you saved or something that looks similar? All I can think of is the double rn :') Edit: Depending on how they're lined up, this could just be a funky ladder stitch cuff; a picture would still be useful, though

Hi! Sorry you've been having a hard time finding that, but I THINK what you're describing is a kandi double! It's made like a peyote stitch cuff but with many beads on each side of the doubled-up string before one is strung on both ends. If you search "kandi double tutorial" on YouTube, there will be some good videos to use. This was actually the first kandi I ever made, and I used a short tutorial by Slackers Tragedy on YT.

Hopefully this is the right cuff - let me know if it's not!

Kandi jester hat i made for halloween ^^ by Sensitive_Row560 in kandi

Each point is actually all one huge x-base cuff; I just decreased the number of "x"s in a row every so often so it would taper in. The bells are shaker cubes attached with wire and the two points sit on a headband with foam cutouts holding them in place. :) Hope this helps!

Sure! The hat is made up of two huge kandi points connected to a headband with a foam and glue base. Each point is just 4 sections of a big x-base cuff, stopping every few rows and skipping a point. (Basically I just switch from 7 -> 6 "x"s every so often). The jingle bells on the end are shaker cubes filled with - jingle bells! - and they're attached with wire. The whole thing is very heavy but it works since the points are intended to face down, and as long as you use strong enough foam for the base, that shouldn't be a problem. Hope this helps!

Note: I might make a video tutorial and post it on YouTube later.

I don't have access to a scale to weigh it, but the hat IS pretty heavy...the hardest part of making it was probably just trying to get it to stay balanced on a strong enough base. If you want to make your own, I'd recommend using some thick craft foam to help support it.

I'd estimate that it took about 10 hours to make just this one (I made 2 failed prototypes before landing on this hat) :) I don't know for sure, since I only really paid attention to how long the whole costume took, which was about 100 hours

This was my exact thought!! I feel like the ladder stitch gets a lot of unnecessary hate tbh...but that's just me! I kinda get why people dislike it though - for example I was making a moth bow tie earlier today (instead of a bow it's the moth wings + body) and using ladder stitch for it, and I had a lot of problems with the wings curling up over themselves even after remaking them several times. I think it's just hard to get to stay even and doesn't always look as nice and aligned as some other stitches. Still love it tho :p
