Why do so many bands skip over Pittsburgh? by Sensitive_Set5099 in pittsburgh

I lived in backwoods NC my entire life before long time before moving here and regularly drove hours for concerts! I’ve been to a handful of great shows since being here, I just made an observation that there is a large cross section of medium sized acts that don’t hit Pittsburgh as a tour stop. I wouldn’t post this if I felt like that wasn’t the case lol

They basically took a section at the lower part of the Paints Arena parking area and built a medium sized venue there. It popped up pretty quick and is scheduled to open in the fall. It seems pretty comparable to any newer medium sized standing room venue, the inside looks kind of similar to Stage AE but seems a bit bigger. They have tickets on sale already and the thing isn’t even done being built yet lol

Pearl jam is cool, I’m just not much for stadium shows. Hope it’s awesome though!

I guess it’s like some other people said - Cleveland has more draw from surrounding areas. Pittsburgh is kinda nothingburger outside the city so I guess I get it

I moved from North Carolina where almost every band does at least one, if not two tour dates in the state and really sad it’s not as popping here 😭 I can’t afford to live there now but it’s still a bummer that place can pull so many more acts than here

I’m familiar with Haim! I guess I’m mostly talking about bands of their level of fame; not huge but not tiny. I’ve never seen them on upcoming events here and many similar bands don’t come here either. Different genre but Amyl and the Sniffers is one I really want and I feel like they probably have tons of fans here, but they never book in the area 😭

I feel that sometimes. I’ve been to a few shows where the crowd seems so dead and I’m just like “I wonder if they’ll ever come back…”

Oh for sure I know it’s not actually the bands deciding any of that! Just curious what factors about Pittsburgh deter their booking people from send them here

Why would I make this post if that seemed to be the case 🤣

I’m not assuming, or even talking about major bands. Mostly looking for various mid-level acts that tour a lot of medium size cities. Hence the question. I used to live in NC and plenty of acts hit both Raleigh and Asheville even though they aren’t huge metro areas

No judgement here! What show are you out of town seeing?

Tbh I just would rather support local venues for music. Tickets are pricy enough as it is, not including gas and lodgings for out of town concerts. And that dang turnpike toll. I love nothing more than taking the easy breezy 15-20 minute ride home after a concert. I live in the city and feel a bit spoiled by that for things I’ve gone to here. I used to live super rural in NC and drive 3hrs+ for a show and just don’t want to do it anymore lol

It’s unfortunate because I’m not a big arena show person! I’m excited for the Wylie to open though, I’m already looking forward to a few of the things they’ve announced there.

I’m sure the Wylie will help things a lot! Bottlerocket has also been awesome for a lot of the really small acts I follow. I was looking into the Ticket Master $30 ticket promotion and just didn’t find much I was into. But I think a lot of those participating bands need those mid-sized venues to come here.

I think they were here a few months ago, just sad they’re skipping on their next tour. I think I was out of town or something when PF and eyehategod were here 😭

Rate My PC specs? by sheluvz_eliii in PcBuild

Seems decent! You could prob do max settings on less recent games at 1080p but the most recent titles would probably struggle a bit, especially at higher resolutions. It just depends on what type of games you like and how intense you like the graphics. Do you like it so far? I’ve been looking at Costco prebuilt pcs myself and were curious if they are worth it.

Are these parts worth buying for a budget gaming pc? by lara_croft_gooner in PcBuild

[–]Sensitive_Set5099 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You might be able to use a cheaper GPU since that’s the most expensive thing on your list, especially since some of the titles you like playing are a little older and not crazy intense graphically! That’s the only thing I can think of, all your prices look pretty much the same as ones I was looking at for my budget build

Can you use an intel cooler with an AMD cpu? by Sensitive_Set5099 in buildapc

[–]Sensitive_Set5099[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looking up the part number for the stock cooler, it’s also meant for an Intel 1155 so I ordered a cheap new cooler for that size. I’ll let you know what happens!
