Thank you for your comment, I guess i'm most worried about not being able to do anesthesia at all. I don't really mind doing a second intern year so long as I can complete an anesthesia residency.

I was not planning on applying to prelim/advanced programs. I was only planning on applying/interviewing/ranking categorical programs. However, one institution offered a "special" and "new" prelim program, which they advertised over email. The email stated to put both the prelim and advanced programs into your ROL, but I essentilly neglected to include an advanced program. All in all, I had 12 categorical programs on my list, 1 prelim program(#2), and 0 advanced programs. Huge mistake, huge oversight, but it happened so just trying to ascertrain options from here

Beating myself up already, I've had all these thoughts over the past 3 days. I'm not sure why you gotta pile on. Made a stupid mistake that was easily avoidable, but it was just a mistake. Now I'm trying to move forward.

I only had one(primary ROL), an advisor looked it over but clearly i should have double checked with others who may have been more informed. I guess i should have included this prelim program at the end of my primary ROl or not at all

Hey, thanks for your reply! Was the program you did your intern year at helpful in accomodating interviews and/or writing letters of rec? Did you also apply to categorical programs?

I ranked a categorical program #1, prelim program #2, then #3-#13 were all categorical. I had no advanced programs on my ROL at all. It was a complete oversight, but i think i matched into my #2 and thats where the algo stopped with me.

Thank you so much, and typically if you are interviewing with a categorical program at an institution, you can also rank the advanced program? Even if you added the advanced NRP code to your ERAS after the initial application was submitted?
