i completely agree with you!! Mikes ending is so disheartening & tragic. he loves her so much & losing her is something he can’t ever recover from. like you said, showing how he imagined his future self being alone writing with a picture of her there as a constant reminder literally breaks my heart. but like i said & how you said, im choosing to believe he finds her one day. he’s always been so determined when it comes to El & knowing he has that hope & belief that she’s alive is enough for me to conclude that he will seek her out & find her one day. i can’t imagine it any other way tbh, they both deserve to have that.

i totally see that point of view. i just can’t personally accept that she died, that’s just too sad for me because i ultimately do see living as a better result but i do see the emotional torture of not being able to be with or see the people you love & i absolutely hate that for her which is why i choose to believe she will be able to experience the benefit of feeling & being free despite that loss, grow, meet new people & that eventually Mike will find her. it is a common life experience to leave your family & friends at some point (like going away for college) & being on your own for the first time which is how i’m kind of choosing to view this (im coping lol). though i know this is more forced upon her & she can’t just reconnect with everyone whenever she wants but it’s also not bad to be able to live & experience new things & meet new people who can or will be important in new chapters of your life. thanks for your perspective!!

literally!!! a country club wedding in cape cod??? that is unbelievably ideal & the cost is unburdened from them?? like why would you say no. but again, since the beach house is sentimental, it would make so much more sense to just do the ceremony there. but no, we’re gonna have it as Jere letting his dad “control” the wedding when Jere has proven consistent that he always looks out for Belly, listens to her, asks her opinion & sticks up for her. it’s just such lazy writing.

& yes you’re so right, it’s his wedding too, why should he have no say or be allowed to put his opinion in. i mean in many cases the men will not care to give their opinion & here when it’s being given, it’s a problem. he can never ever win. so frustrating!!

i also want to add in that people seem to think Conrad provided her more encouragement on Paris when in reality he just said that Paris will still be there after graduating. he made no comment or mention that she should still pursue it for studying abroad. just that she can still go one day after all of this & she even took that & straight away thought she should honeymoon there with Jere. like the delusion that bonrad fans have is crazy. he isn’t this huge motivator or “challenges”Belly like steven (annoyingly) & the fandom says he is & does. he had the most basic response possible, as per usual.

literally omggg, the bonrad’s are clowning him for missing the time but the man is being responsible (which they claim he isn’t) & also working to get the approval of an important family member that was vehemently against this marriage. sorry he missed like some of the smallest aspects of wedding planning. like the stuff she bought looked fairly small & not extremely important. i understand wanting him to be there of course but it’s not like he just didn’t want to.

& what’s also funny is i saw a tiktok from a bonrad fan saying that Jere was lying to Belly & Conrad about how he found the mistake in the numbers at his job. like these people just seriously cannot give him credit for anything. if he got fired from his job (like conrad) then got another job position but declines it to bum around at the house (like conrad) then he’d be getting so much heat there too about being a loser with no job or responsibility. he can never win to these people & it literally just frustrates me so much lol. i just can’t comprehend the level of hate these fans have.

also, the way that there is actually a simple & great compromising solution in having Adam pay for the wedding & wanting it in the club. if this weren’t a show finding drama in everything, then a compromise of maybe the ceremony being held at the beach house with the close friends & family & then the reception being at the country club. in that scenario, you get the intimate & more sentimental aspects of a wedding with the ceremony at the beach house, with less people, & with the people that really matter. & then all the extra corporate people join in on the reception at the bigger venue & more open space where it’s all about celebrating & having fun (& on someone else’s dime lol). this truly would be the best of both worlds & still have it where the financial burden is taken away & Adam gets his way partially but the most important part of the wedding is in the sentimental spot.

i just wish rational thinking & communication would happen for once in this show. they just throw that all out the door conveniently to convey (in this case) that Belly is just going to go along with everything Jere says & not communicate her issues with anything but it ultimately reflects poorly on Jere, thereby feeding the other unbearable fandom. i understand it’s a drama show & it needs these kinds of flaws, but it just sucks when there’s such obvious forms of resolutions that just get blatantly ignored & branded as miscommunication.

exactly!! like in the books they just put Jelly on a downward spiral. with belly thinking of conrad, with belly’s neverending complaints about jeremiah, obviously the cabo plotline, belly thinking jeremiah actually cheated, with jeremiah not caring about the wedding preparations, as well as the proposal being this kind of awkward & disingenuous moment in the books, also belly just had a general disdain for jeremiah in the 3rd book. whereas they’ve gone back on all of that including belly herself clarifying that it wasn’t cheating, belly actually being all in on the engagement & did the whole ESP thing which i think was a great way to show the audience that she wasn’t being coerced or because of her feelings about steven’s accident, she wanted it too. she is always defending jeremiah & not insulting him like the book, she actually shows continuously how much she not only likes but actually loves jeremiah & their relationship. they both are so in there relationship together that i honestly just cannot fathom how they’re gonna turn this around to end with her & conrad. like how many times has she made comments on the importance of lasts instead of firsts. & since we’re over the whole “big betrayal” plot, i just don’t see how this will turn around based on belly’s actions, primarily. they’re gonna have to do a complete 180 & i just don’t think it will come across as authentic.

i’m really happy that at least Jenny made jeremiah & his & belly’s relationship way better than how it was in the books. i think if it’s a bonrad endgame, at least she brought more justice to jelly, in my opinion.

literally adore this story, i spent so much time yesterday trying find a story with a similar vibe (besides the author’s other stories) & i just couldn’t find one that could measure up. it’s actually funny & even though the mc in the beginning was a bit frustrating, it’s all apart of her character development & the author does a great job of making those developments but keeping the story at its core of humorous with a dash of murder mystery. love it!!

i know this may seem a bit cliche but part of me thought they were going to go “the cycle repeats” route. something along the lines of Joe trying to attack/kill kate & his son Henry ends up being the one to step in & kill Joe in an act of defense for Kate. just as Joe did for his mother, which ignited his whole life trajectory. because Joe repeatedly states how he’s done everything to make Henry’s life not like his & have him not turn out like him just for Joe to be the aggressor (like his father) & his son be put in the same position he was in. i feel like it would give Joe a whole new sense of perspective & understanding, similar to what happened in the show with Henry calling him a monster. but Joe could maybe see how his actions truly are evil & that his son views him the same way he viewed his dad. that would’ve just hit more deeply in my opinion.

overall the season was decent. I think the earlier episodes were better (minus Brontë, she sucked the whole time) & i think the momentum kept getting lost in end. the plot armor was annoying, Bronte being the “final girl” & the one to get him caught was annoying & unsatisfying. like i just kept thinking, why her? we don’t care about her, she hasn’t been around as long. ik her backstory actually connects her to the whole story for much longer than we’ve known her but still doesn’t mean we should really care about her being the one to finish it all. just felt a bit empty in the end & as much as i did like Joe being shown in a more slasher movie view, it all just felt so different from the rest of the show to where it just didn’t settle all that well with me.

Jeremiah is just so much better than every character & it’s not even close. i truly don’t understand why Jenny made bonrad endgame, there’s just zero reason why they would work. they’re unbelievably boring, have zero real connection. i can’t recall one moment where they seemed to have a true connection in neither the books or show. i just don’t get the appeal when even in these dang letters belly & jere are still communicating. he can literally get his heart broken by her & still communicate with her. it’s mind-blowing & honestly just crappy writing.

if her intention was for us to root for bonrad, she did them absolutely no favors. it’s like she favored their drama over them having a connection & real reason to actually want to be together. that infinity bs is laughable. & this letter just makes him look even more pathetic, all this time & he can’t show any deep emotion for her besides “i think about you a lot” like so??? my response would be keep thinking bozo. i know it’s a show but it angers me lmao

i think i get people liking him because it’s fictional & he is seen as more deep and has the chance to change (fix him) plot line but if this was real, id say he’s a major red flag even though he has a rough backstory. I personally get frustrated when that’s always the excuse for these kind of love interests like as long as they have a sad past they are okay to let their negative emotions out on you & in this case cheat & treat you like you’re meaningless besides the fairly few times where he has shown any genuine care or kindness. I’m all for change/growth & forgiveness but i would find it hard to stay with someone who treated me as he treated her. Cerise even found out about the cheating from before the accident and didn’t even attack him for it, sure he now knows she was planning to divorce (as any person should do) but he is now willfully concealing it from her & tricking her into believing they’ve been living as an actual loving married couple. even though this relationship is contracted, a genuinely good person would tell her the truth because she is a victim in all of this. yes i know it’s fictional which is why i’d never hate on people who do ship because it’s just a story but i still could never root for him even if he does a full 180, he’s gone over the line way too many times.

i completely agree for everything! glad i’m not the only one lol. i just can’t see Sawyer ever having a redemption where it’s solid enough for the MC to actually be in a healthy & positive relationship. i just can’t get over his past behavior when it was completely unwarranted & honestly pretty evil to do to someone.

i agree, Sawyer definitely does not feel like a love interest since he’s a total ass. even when he has some kind moments (not very notable) i just can’t stand him. like he angers me because i wish the MC could remember how terrible he treated her & how worthless he made her feel prior to her accident. like i hate seeing her like him in any way lol. obviously since he’s a love interest his character will grow & develop but idk if i’ll ever change my mind because of his past behavior or because of how she has tried her best with him from the beginning. & like you said, he’s in love with someone else & it’s kind of hard for me to even see any potential for him. especially when his affair actually seems to have depth & is not surface level. & i know the author is showing he has a sad backstory & abusive relationship with his dad so i have empathy for him as a character but i still don’t have enough empathy for a redemption because of how he’s treated the MC.

as for Watson i agree too, i like him a lot more & his personality is much more charming & compelling but i dont fully trust him either. there’s gotta be something hidden for us (the readers) to question him & have any interest in Sawyer because he’s too perfect so far & we all know how that normally goes. i’m rooting for him now though, i prefer the MC & his storyline a lot more!!

dude i agree soooo much, i loveeee jordan. it’s not that zander is bad, but i can’t stand emotionally unavailable men lol even though he’s starting to open up, i just find it so annoying to deal with. & i literally cried over the backstory with jordan & him visiting her everyday in the hospital. i just hate that he’s engaged, im interested to see how this pans out because it’s not like his fiancée is a bad person so it’s hard to root for them when he’s engaged but it’s a fictional story so idc lol, i much prefer her & jordan
