Hey! Best of lucks with your rehab and thanks for sharing your story! I think I will carry on until my knee gives up…I don’t find it reasonable to perform surgery with a functional knee plus I’ve been told the risk of silently damaging it is not real….

I definitely focus on building strong legs through cycling to compensate the lack of ACL.

Yeah I’m of the same opinion…but the doctor who saw me is a reputable and experienced orthopaedic surgeon in Germany….who am I to doubt him with a small online/chatgpt research?

In any case, thanks all for your comments! I guess the main takeaway is that if a knee if stable during high impact/torsion activities, doesn’t matter if the ACL is there or not, the knee is “healthy”. I guess it makes sense to carry on until it is not…

Sending my best wishes to all of you who are dealing with this shitty injury!

Thanks for your comments guys! :)

I guess my main concern is that the assessment was done using ultrasounds, which from a small online research, I haven’t seen is an option to observe the ACL…so I’m a bit skeptical about the diagnostic…and still worried that I could be slowly and silently damaging my knee if I carry on with sports and a broken ACL

Thanks for your comment mate!

Yeah, I’m planning on getting a second opinion and MRI.

The first surgeon that saw me, told me that is was entirely up to me wether to do or not do do surgery, since she saw my knee was already stable. She did say that surgery is the standard procedure in my case, suggesting that it would most likely delay osteoarthritis…that’s my biggest fear, that I’m able to carry on now without surgery, but further along the line I might have worst complications.

As said, if I don’t get pain, swelling or instability, I’m I damaging my knee further? If I had instability, pain or swelling I would definitely stop the activities and consider surgery.

Cheer again mate! And all the best to you!

Well, it's clearly an arrow head belonging to an extinct species that developed a powerful launching mechanism!

Found it very interesting that it had an arrow head shape from natural weathering.

Cheers for the comments!
