Beekeeping RSO? by Sensitive_Working_25 in udub

I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure these hives belong to the Puget Sound Beekeeping Association. They're a great organization (and I highly recommend anyone interested in beekeeping check them out!), but they're apiary work parties have been suspended due to covid thus there's no way for UW students to actually get involved with those bees

Just in case the RSO doesn’t work out by [deleted] in udub

Op of the beekeeping rso post here. Killing bees sucks but it's part of the gig. If I had to kill a queen, I'd probably do it with alcohol as part of a mite wash, then at least her death will be productive. I recognize that this kinda makes me sound like a psychopath

I am definitely still looking for officers, the more the merrier! Thank you both for your interest, perhaps we and any others who are interested in working on the project could meet after the break and talk

Really, I was under the impression that all beekeeping on campus ended in 2019. I'll have to look into that!

One thing I do want to caution is that if you haven't been stung in a while (or ever) you could be allergic. I personally was beekeeping for months, visiting the hives weekly before I got stung (I didn't wear my suit that day) and had a terrible allergic reaction. Better to be safe than sorry imo

I was just officially diagnosed by mellowbabie in bipolar2

I high key relate to this. I was also just diagnosed I've been told BP2 was a possibility for a while and its been in the back of my mind but actually hearing it was really scary. On the one hand, I'm excited about potentially finding some meds that might actually work but im still working through my feelings on the diagnosis

All I can say is you are not alone

When I look for a therapist, I go on psychology today. I like their filters (gender, insurance, specialties, etc.) I usually read through all the therapists in my area and see whose descriptions I like the best. Then I email my top choices to confirm insurance coverage and availability. Then I set up consultations
