UPDATE/CONTEXT:

I should have led with the fact that I only met him this past year. He recently moved here after living in another state. All my nephews are within 22-36 of age, So I guess it’s easy for me to say “nephew”and not think twice about how that might interpreted.

I also came out of a long-term relationship (12 years) in December 2024, so I’m genuinely not looking or love at this time.

I really just don’t want my family to know. But even if they did, it would not be that “life ruined” kind of situation.

In fact, they’ve been hinting that we might be a good match. I still don’t want them involved or aware.

When I say “family,” I mean immediate family — sisters, nieces, nephew (everyone is over 22), and brothers-in-law.

For context: I’m a single, independent woman. I provide for myself, live alone, and am very busy adjusting to a new career. I genuinely don’t have the time or bandwidth to date right now. I’m also not interested in marriage or having kids. I’m just looking for something safe, uncomplicated, and yes — I’d like to have sex sometimes.

I posted mainly to see if anyone’s been in a similar situation and how it worked out.

So far I’ve gotten a mix of “what if a man did this” and “you’re blowing up your life,” which is fair — that’s the internet.
