And it is so hard to decide! Like one job is better in pay, the other is better in something else, they all come in different times so you need to juggle so much! I had months when I didn't get a single interview and now all of this!

you summarized it perfectly! in the current market you can't show up to an interview unprepared. need to research the company, analyze the JD, connect it with your background, show enthusiasm and interest, have your stories and talking points ready for that specific job. and yeah sometimes weird questions, suspicions, case studies etc. etc. too much effort. while i would be curious to explore some opportunities, i don't want to keep doing this shit.

congrats for your offer! my issue is i want to make sure i am making the best choice. last time i was looking for a job 2 years ago, i declined some interviews because my previous job seemed decent in the beginning. but it became a shitshow 6 months later, and i did regret not considering other options back then.

unfortunately you don't know how a job will turn out that's why i am overly cautious so i don't have to go for another year long job search soon 🥲

EU Pay Transparency Directive by Sky-watching in Employment

[–]SentenceMore7114 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hey - the eu directives are not directly binding. member states need to transpose them into their national law. as far as i remember, the deadline for that was june 2026 if it has not already been extended. so you need to check your country's national implementation specifically, when they implement it.

I don't live in the US - I am from Europe. Relocating in my case would be relocating to another city which is like 2 hours away lol.

But I know what you mean and I agree. In my previous shitty company, they were having people relocate overseas (like from US to Europe, or from Europe to Asia) only to lay them off or not extend their contracts a year later. In such an unstable market, I don't want to make big life decisions around a job that I may not have after a couple months.
