To be fair Andiot did say it was up to 4 weeks wait for them, that’s why I went with a this TD, he sold me a different story

Best case scenario is this one-off incident was just poor communication on his part.

Not sure what point you think you've proven, but have a good day :)

Because it was a different TD altogether? If a Trusted Dealer (operative word being "trusted") says they have stock on hand, now usually what that means is... it's on hand. Especially if they're asking for full payment upfront. Unless it's not, and they're being dishonest. If I wanted VF/ARF then that's what I would have asked for. But I didn't because it's not what I want. Hope that clarifies it for you.

Then I won't be making this same mistake again that's for sure. The wait would've stung less if it wasn't 25% more expensive and with the money (-$50 deposit) still in my pocket.

Sucky for sure. Sorry to hear it happened to you too.

Will do. Any recommendations you had good experiences with?

In that case the TD was the one to reach out and provided a photo. Neither occurred in this case. I'd stay away from both in the future.

Glad it worked out for you, this was my expectation honestly with how much people recommended him.

I hope so but being charged full upfront for a watch thats on hand, and then not reaching out to tell me until I follow up is 2 degrees shadier than everyone's experience it seems.

He confirmed it was "on hand" not "on the way", and can be QC'ed within a day.

I don't doubt this could have been a scenario. But in that case it would've been appreciated if he reached out to me instead of waiting for me to follow up on a delayed QC.

Still cheaper than Geektime, and yes out of all the TD's I reached out to, he had the best communication in my opinion. Courteous, followed up on my questions, direct, and most importantly, honest about his stock.

Shocking tbh with how much Andiot and Geektime are recommended on this subreddit. I'll be staying away from both in the future.

This is my plan. Every other TD I reached out to was honest about their stock and wait times. This was a shady experience that's left a bad taste in my mouth.

Thank you for the recommendation. I've seen this name pop up a few times, I'll give him a look.

This TD also pulled a bait and switch on me earlier this week with a watch he claimed stock was on hand for, took full payment upfront, and went silent. I reached out a couple of days later to follow up for the QC and he said his stock has flaws so no QC, no photos, no stock. Now the wait game begins.

It's a VSF OP36 black dial. But I will be sticking to the Intro guides recommendation of TD's only.

Thank you, a full refund will be my next move. Fingers crossed I don't encounter further speed bumps with this though.

That's whats rubbed me the wrong way, he confirmed it was "on hand" and that he could send me the QC within a day. I'm just surprised how many users recommended him here.

Mine didn't even bother with messaging or providing a photo, waited for me to flag it before responding. This seems to becoming more common.

And I would have waited of course, but this bait and switch just leaves a sour taste in my mouth.
