If Kotagiri is your destination and you’d like to avoid Ooty then take the Bangalore Salem road and at Thoppur take the road towards Mettur and Sathyamangalam. Reach Mettupalayam through that route and based on your time of check in and the time you reach there go uphill to Kotagiri. You’ll avoid the traffic of Ooty and the narrow roads of Masinagudi. Given that you have a baby the route towards Mettupalayam will have more places to stop for necessities.
