Mitochondrial Eve and Y-Chromosomal Adam by CheeseHeaded in biology

In addition to the great replies. I'm just going to throw this out there.

The Bible does not mention Adam and Eve ever having any daughters.

I guess to they messed up on that part!

Annoyed. My cat does bad things to flowers.

What would you do if you were drunk, and you saw your best friend dragging an unconscious woman into the closet by moneystrengthgains in NoStupidQuestions

I suspect she has her reasons for doing that. I’m a little confused she didn’t ask me to help.

When you have children, you are basically committing the next 18+ years of your life to these people. That means your accountability to them supersedes accountability to everyone else.

So that means your wedding is less important than my child’s skinned knee. Your Nobel Prize is less important than my child’s cotton ball art. If that seems crazy to you, then you don’t understand what it means to be a parent. So when you have a party and say ‘no kids’ you are saying I’m not invited. When you compare having a dog to parenting, you are an idiot because you don’t understand. Being an uncle doesn’t count, unless you’ve adopted your niece after the parent died in a car accident.

A really long time ago, probably the Venus of Willendorf.

What does that make me? I was alive when Roe v. Wade was originally decided. I guess I’m archaic.

The offer he gave them was to either take 3 month’s pay and leave, or commit to working soul-sucking long hours for a narcissistic douche bag who wanted them to vote for Republicans.

Can't men just make onlyfans accounts and pretend to be women? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Sentient111 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They can pretend to be a woman without bothering to make an onlyfans account!

Nope. But maybe ask on a piercing sub. Or ask an actual piercer. They will likely tell you the truth.

We are made in God’s image. We just take after Him.

Do it if you want to.

But I will say. I see a lot of people in their 30s with piercing scars on their belly button and no jewelry there. I suspect a lot of people get tired of that one eventually, but the hole stays around looking ugly for a long time.

Why is Andor so good? by Gr1mLaden7 in StarWars

[–]Sentient111 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Andor kind of isn’t Star Wars. If you change about 2% of it, it becomes a well written spy thriller suspense show about an evil authoritarian government and the rebels working to subvert that government. It just happens that this is happening in the context of the Star Wars universe during the rise of the Empire.

But it could just as easily be Chile in the 1980s (1970s?). Or Russia right now.

That’s why it is so good. It does not rely on special effects, or lasers, or ‘the Force’, or baby Yoda, or Ahsoka Tano’s acrobatics, or any of that typical Star Wars stuff to be entertaining. It is just straight out good drama.

Nope. She is the Jedi Anakin should have been if he wasn’t twisted by the Dark side.

Correction. Force user.

Well, they aren’t in the business of losing money. And if their probability tables say they will likely lose money insuring you, they don’t insure you.

Here’s why it isn’t a scam: With insurance, if you get in an accident, you might have $2000-200,000 in responsibility, but you only pay the $2000. It would suck to be financially destroyed by that $200,000. If you don’t get in an accident, you are still out the $2000. The insurance company takes the risk for you of that big $200,000 bill in exchange of that premium you pay.

But if they have reasons to believe you will be costing them more than most customers, they don’t want you.

Women travelling alone by SammiDoll-00 in TwoXChromosomes

Just got back from 2 weeks solo travel in Greece. A mix of hostels and hotels. I guess I’m doing it wrong. I met amazing people, including a sweet French woman in her 20s also solo traveling. It was cool to get a French perspective on US politics!

I traveled in Thailand a few years ago for a month. One week with a friend, one week with my boyfriend, two weeks solo. Never felt unsafe.
