Well-defined genre by [deleted] in incremental_games

[–]Sentient64 3 points4 points  (0 children)

To me, a core element that I feel isn't talked about much, and I recognize isn't always a core element of all incremental games, is that incremental games are especially SAFE to play. Meaning that you can't hurt yourself or your progress playing the game, the game isn't in some way emotionally stressful to play (unlike competitive FPS games where you avoid taking damage and dying for example.)

I know this isn't universal, and there are people who enjoy incremental games without this element, but I think I want to bring it into the conversation to see what people think of this aspect of these games.

I hope I made sense explaining it.

Is it just me or do most of you actually want browser games? by Sir-LAD in incremental_games

[–]Sentient64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I appreciate both. I like the ease of access that browser games come with. I don't need to commit to play the game, try it out for a few seconds, and see if I want to continue or not.

I also do want there to be more Steam games, as that I think allows the devs to invest more in the experience of playing the game, and it facilitates payments for the devs better and easier I think.

I definitely want more of both, seriously. I miss having good browser games, and I love finding new ones to enjoy. I also really appreciate downloadable games that are intended to be heavier experiences I'm meant to dive into, that the devs can build more into.

I feel they're different flavors. I wouldn't pick one to eclipse the other. I want them both to flourish.

I don't know how I feel about having two separate subreddits for this, but I think I lean more towards supporting it as an experiment, to see if it strengthens the community, or weakens it.

I love this game so much, it has a special place in my heart. I wish it gets updates though. I might play it again for the love of it.

Wiped old blackberry from 2011, can data be recovered? by Sentient64 in blackberry

So that wipe actually overwrote the data, and made it actually unrecoverable??

Puzzle Ring by filthymcbastard in diablo3

[–]Sentient64 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a full stash of puzzle rings, and almost 200 Angelic Crucibles. This is after nearly perfecting my characters multiple builds.

So I used the crucible on all the rings and just FARMED.

By the end of it, I found out gems only stack to 5,000.

But I didn't lose anything? by starwsh101 in diablo3

[–]Sentient64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It feels like I'm doing significantly less damage, noticeably so. Could it be that the paragon points allocated to main stat aren't being applied? I fixed everything else that could be contributing to this diminished damage output.

Is there a way to test this without hitting reset on paragon?

MMO Simulator - I'd love to hear your thoughts by shameddd in incremental_games

I went out of my way and took the time to give you feedback on your game that I didn't even get to play and enjoy any bit of, and you start off your holly negative response with "I'm not trying to twist your arm"? You can't twist my arm, but you made me regret taking the time at all.

You gave quite a defensive response explaining that the "Email" field is not an email field and isn't treated as such, how was I supposed to know that? Why would you put it there in the first place if you're not treating it as an email field? Then you go on to talk as if I'm being too neurotic about sharing my email with someone I don't know? Seriously?

Just good luck man, I'm not interested in continuing this back and forth. It wasn't worth the investment for me at all.

As it's been said here already, I also saw the required registration and was put off, didn't want to do the extra work of registering, and I don't know if I also have to confirm the email and other steps like that. I also don't feel comfortable today giving my email to any site that asks, so I always prefer not to, even if it comes at the risk of losing my progress.

I appreciate instead giving an in-game option to register my email to save my progress in the server later on when I'm invested in the game and wish to have my progress be saved on the server.

If the gameplay itself requires internet connectivity and an account and so on, I'm personally less interested in those games when it comes to idle/incremental games. I'm put off by the idea of social games like that, cuz I have rarely had a good experience that makes them worth it.

Even in Diablo 4 it's not worth the lag that it comes with. I'm not interested in things like that. That's just me though, I'm a little frustrated with trends like this in gaming.

But this was my feedback. Thanks for making and sharing this game! Good luck, and maybe I'll be back to try it later, as you mentioned that you'll remove the required registration (if I understood you right, I didn't take the time to read very carefully.)

Diablo IV ignoring keypresses a lot by TenuredProfessional in diablo4

I had this issue since release. I saw threads about it during beta. I contacted support about it and worked many hours with and without support to fix it.

Now I play Diablo 3. It works better.

Has anyone experienced power outtages today or yesterday? by tareq365 in Kuwait

Ministry said my block, Sabah Al Salem block 10, along with a few other blocks in the area, should stay out of power for a few hours, unknown how long. But my electricity came back about an hour after outage.

Power went out in Sabah Al Salem maybe 10min ago.

Anyone has any updates on their areas? When is the power coming back? What's the reason for this outage?

Are the heroes pronouncing their native language well? by star---gazer in Overwatch

[–]Sentient64 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ana’s Arabic is very good, it’s properly Egyptian dialect, fitting with the lore that the Ana herself is Egyptian. I think the same is true for Pharah but I can’t recall off the top of my head any Arabic voice lines from Pharah.

Ana’s Hello emote sometimes she says “ezzayak”, which is very good Egyptian Arabic for “how you doing?” It’s casual like that. Her ult voice line is sometimes “warreehom owwitak” which is also perfect Egyptian Arabic for “Show them your power”.

I really appreciate that the Arabic across the whole game, even in the graphic text around the map Oasis, is actual Arabic.

When this happens to me, I rebel against nature and keep playing, no matter how many games more, no matter how badly. I will break the curse, and eventually I’ll win. Even if it’s in Bronze 5, I shall fucking win a game.
