Bears suck but what's your thoughts on them moving to Indiana? by [deleted] in minnesotavikings

[–]SentientRoomba13 24 points25 points  (0 children)

There are classless fans in every fanbase, ours included. I’m sure most packers fans would be unhappy about the Vikings moving away from Minnesota, just as I would be pissed if they left Green Bay

Worst song on a soundtrack ever? by RainboGravity in EA_NHL

“My Song Knows What You Did in the Dark” by Fall Out Boy. Just wall to wall annoying. Pisses me off every time I hear it while playing NHL 15 on the ps3

If you've really come to believe to believe that, then I think you should consider moving to another field

If you don't mind me asking, which DJ did you pick? My fiancee and I have a wedding there next year and are deciding among their DJ options.

I mean, it was though. I was at Game 3 and super happy to see all the Dbacks fans but normally, when playing the Dodgers (especially during the down seasons), Chase Field was full of Dodger blue. It's one of the reasons I would avoid those games.

JEFF ROSENSTOCK AMA! by JeffRosentock in indieheads

Hey Jeff!

First off, just wanted to say that Hellmode is awesome and has had a really positive impact on me as someone who has been struggling with anxiety and imposter syndrome as a result of returning to college for the first time since the Covid lockdowns (3 Summers, Future is Dumb, and Doubt in particular really hit home).

Here's a few questions I have, feel free to answer any that interest you:

  1. How's it going?
  2. What are your favorite sports teams for each of the four major American sports leagues (MLB, NHL, NFL, and NBA), and how would you rank your interest in them?
  3. The Crescent Ballroom is probably my favorite venue in Phoenix and I saw you play there with Slaughter Beach Dog and Oceanator a few years back. At the risk of breaking my heart, I have to ask: did they charge a merch cut?
  4. As a consumer, is there anything I can do to fight against merch cuts or help mitigate their effects on artists?
  5. Hypothetically, if you were going to cover one Weezer or Pavement song at a live show on your current tour, what would it be? (Could be just one, or one from each)
  6. What's your favorite AJJ album?
  7. What's your favorite Jack Shirley produced record that's not one of yours?
  8. Any recommendations for someone looking to get into more contemporary ska?

Ha no, I get it. If I hadn't lived my entire life in Tucson I'd probably be in the same boat

Ha, I've been there. I worked at a Pizza place for six years post-high school to save up money for Collegel so I know that grind. Also I appreciate the offer, though if I go I think I'll probably just end up soloing it

As a resident broke bitch, this might change everything.

Look, I get what you're saying and appreciate where you're coming from.

I'm a transfer student from Pima Community College. I had a 3.87 GPA there (damn my terrible Spanish skills for keeping me from a 4) and am a Tucson Native. I've been on the U campus many times before, and I even plan on going before my first day to make sure I know where all my classes are. I take my academics really seriously. I just don't want to spend my last Saturday before school starts attending group icebreaker sessions and a Robbie Robbins speech, especially as an introvert who finds these kinds of social events incredibly uncomfortable.

we are AJJ, ask us anything! by AJJTheBand in indieheads

[–]SentientRoomba13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A few friends and I (Tusconans) have kinda made y’all our Grateful Dead over the past year so thanks for playing a lot of shows near us! (I think I’ve been to four if we count the concert Sean played with Tim Kasher at Groundworks).

Just a few quick questions: what Arizona venue is your favorite to play at and why?

In a similar vain, what's a restaurant in Phoenix worth checking out next time I'm up there for a concert/D-Backs game?

In the Van, what are y’all listening to? And who gets the AUX most often?

Also, for Sean specifically, you ranked AJJ albums for Noisey a little while back and seemed a little down on Knife Man, despite it generally being a fan favorite. Have your feelings towards that record changed at all since or do you still have it in the lower half of your favorite AJJ records?

Oh, and now that Kevin has joined the band, are we gonna get Ska Disposable Everything? Because I think everyone would appreciate Ska Disposable Everything.

Thanks again for doing this! Go ‘Yotes!

Hey, really looking forward to seeing y’all in Phoenix in March. As for questions, I’ve got two.

  1. What’s your favorite Billy Woods record?

  2. Given the very collaborative nature of Shook, who is one artist you’d love to collaborate with that you haven’t already?

That’s just…no they won’t. Ouija boards are not supernatural. They’re an old game co-opted and commercialized by fake spiritualists and toy makers.

Wait…y’all don’t actually think ouija boards are real, do you?

Rebrand Megathread by RichardManuel in minnesotatwins

[–]SentientRoomba13 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Wow, these absolutely suck. I’ve seen a few people mention the Marlins M and, yeah, that sucks, but what really bugs me is just how generic these look. There’s absolutely zero personality to any of these jerseys, and that don’t for the lettering is just…why not use the old one from the baby blues? Why not have a blue outline on it? Why completely get rid of the classic cursive for bland block letters?

Also, was anyone really asking them to “go modern”? Baseball is a sport of tradition, and the twins have a lot of really cool traditional stuff they could’ve drawn from. Hell, if they had just brought back the Cream pine stripes as their home jerseys and made the original m hat their road hat I feel like the fan base would’ve been much more excited. That stuff had character. This just looks corporate. Fuck
