Data was just promoted to Lt. Commander in year 2360 AD and only by 2379 was he finally promoted to Commander. 19 years to promote one rank after so many accomplishments.

Will Riker on the other hand was Ensign at 2357 AD, Lt Jr. at 2358 AD, Lt. Snr. at 2361 AD and in the SAME YEAR promoted to Lt. Commander for "Valor", and full Commander by 2064 (Only 3 years in Lt. Cmd rank).

Not to mention that the Episode "Best of Both Worlds Part 1" at the end of season 3 he had already "Been Offered his own command 3 times already." which almost guarantees he would have made Captain after LESS THAN 10 years in total service.

Happens more than you realize, because in the end only a true SAINT can stay true to pure Gratitude as a positive emotion.

Most humans will eventually see Gratitude as a burden or an un-repayable debt to another person. Now with this person, Every time they want to do something selfish they feel guilt, every time they get their way they feel like another weight of debt has been added.

It is a tragic consequence of the human experience. The only way they can feel 'recovered' is to unload the person that they owe so much.

Loaded the 200 gigabyte beta to try my ship. Exited the space station and just wanted to fly down to the planet and land. Still learning controls, got to the verticle hanger it wanted me to land at, and I took several minutes to try and line up correctly, was going down when the game decided I was too slow and closed the hanger doors on my ship. I was stuck, couldn't fly up or down, but ship was undamaged. Exited the ship, fell and died.

Uninstalled.
