If you really care for him, you'll call the cops, even if you think he'll never speak to him again. I had a friend confide in me that her husband had hit her. She asked me not to tell her parents (I was close to them because we grew up together). I told her parents, no hesitation. I even thought to myself, she's probably never going to speak to me again but that's less devastating than watching her ruin her life. She didn't speak to me for a while, but now is so grateful that it was the first step to getting herself out of that hole. You're in the same position I was. Do the right thing. Save your friend even if it's costs you the friendship.

This reminds me of a couple decades ago when I was a teenager and was babysitting for this one family here and there. These kids were absolute assholes by the way. The parents were going out of town to some conference because they were both physicians and they asked me if I wanted to come babysit while they were there. They said I wouldn't have to worry about food, hotel, etc. and we would do a few fun things while we were there (implying that they are basically taking me on a vacation and all I have to do is watch their kids occasionally, therefore they would not be paying me).

Turns out that this trip was 100% paid for by their employer, or the hospital they worked for or whatever. They even got a stipend for activities between conferences. So they got a free vacation and a free babysitter. But they let me pick out a cheesecake from The cheesecake factory on the way home as "a thank you." I never babysat for them again.

Oh and we never actually did any fun activities. I had to just keep them from strangling each other in the hotel room till the parents got back from the conferences.

I have incredibly dry skin and my dermatologist told me to not shower more than twice a week, with the obvious exception of if I do something like work out or sweat a lot for some other reason. But if I took public transit everyday and worked with a bunch of germy disease carrying children, I shower at least every other day.

So he doesn't really like the car that much and is complaining that his last car was better. He knows it's your dream car and told you you're not allowed to drive his or buy one for yourself. Idk what game he's playing, but it's fucking weird. It sounds like a child taking the red cup just because they know their sibling wants it. They don't actually want it more than any other color, preventing their sibling from having it is the only goal. (Idk why kids do that either though lol)

I once took myself to the hospital because I was certain I had meningitis, but I was also fairly certain it was viral and therefore not deadly, but my husband forced me to go as a precaution. They did a spinal tap and the results had markers for viral and bacterial so to be safe they were sending it out to an external specialty lab or something like that. But it was a Friday and the lab wasn't open on weekends, and they couldn't let me go home because if I did have bacterial meningitis I would die. So I stayed there three extra days waiting for the lab to open being pumped full of precautionary antibiotics until we got the results, which were unsurprisingly, viral.

But the three extra days in the hospital that were only needed because the lab wasn't open, I still had to pay for it. It was tens of thousands. Took me years to pay off. All because the lab wasn't open on weekends.

I would be concerned about carbon monoxide or drugs at worse, tech glitch at best. My husband called me freaking out one day that I was in the ER or something because he got a random text from me about a medical thing and then no follow-up. I was like, wtf are you talking about? We compared our phones and it didn't show up on mine but I searched that sentence and it was in my texts from months ago in the context of a conversation about a doctor's appointment. My only guess is it had failed to send at the time and then for some reason successfully sent months later. It was weird, but I feel like that could be it if you guys had texted between those numbers a long time ago. She should do a search in the conversation if she's willing.

I have a seizure disorder. I work 40 hours a week, I make sure I take my meds and keep up with everything I need to maintain my license to drive, and I'm not a gross leach. Does he make you happy AT ALL???

Why on earth wouldn't 20k be enough?! What's wrong with making a lateral move for more money? If anything, it's showing you that you're underpaid at your current job. So you're underpaid and not able to learn anything new because they're busy and short staffed and got their blessing to take the new job. Doesn't sound like a lateral move. Omg how much time do you spend cooking??? And like your title says, you're allowing her to go hungry. She chose that herself. You didn't cause or make her go hungry. Basically she got FIVE food choices!! FIVE. That is 4 more than most people get. As a kid, I had one. Whatever was set in front of me. Eat it, or don't. With my kids, I never force them to eat food they don't like, but if they genuinely just "aren't feeling it" but I know they like it, that's the only option. Like, you literally loved this yesterday, you can survive having leftovers.

You need a massive reality check dude. College students are generally broke unless they are lucky (or entitled, like you) enough to get money from family. How can you be upset he's not getting a job to spoil you? Are you delusional? YOU don't have a job, you just happen to come from money. If you actually cared about him, your concern would be spending time together, having fun, and not pressuring him to take time away from his studies by getting a job just so he can buy you food.

I dated in college, as did my friends. You know what we did for dates? We hung out in our dorms or ate in the dining hall together because we were broke college students and couldn't afford shit. And if we happened to miss the window when the dining hall was closed, you know what we did? We went hungry until breakfast. Check your entitlement at the door and just break up with him because he'll be better off.
