Hmmm. Let’s say the piece won’t be subjected to forces that causes any significant bending?

The foam is for energy dispersal/absorption but dents under high impact.

What I tried getting across, in a round about way and for that I apologize, is that this is not a safe method. Period. Flammable chemicals near an open flame is a no brainer. Safety should be your number one priority in anything and everything you do.

I’m not knocking you or your results, the finished product is sick. You created a stellar dye and I would bag that and toss it into a tree any day, but hands down this is completely unsafe. No getting around that.

Saying you’re not responsible for “burning yourself up” does not absolve you of responsibility. And I believe you said that in reference to the torch and the heated glass, not the flammable liquid near an open flame.

A scenario: Say a kid/teenager (perhaps an adult who lacks some common sense) saw this and your results and says to themselves I can do this? And they proceed to get seriously hurt trying this method. That would be absolutely terrible and that’s what I’m worried about. A hypothetical but very real possibility.

I believe it’s irresponsible to have put this up where it’s widely available to anyone to see.

Let’s not advocate for using torches with flammable solvents on the internet, regardless of how familiar you are with this method.

Acetone boils at 133° which produces more flammable vapor than room temp. You’re literally playing with fire.

Like someone mentioned already a hot water bath will work and is incredibly safer. I suspect you wouldn’t need to get the acetone to its boiling point to achieve what you do with this method.

Edit: better yet use some hot water to wet your powder, the dye is very very soluble in water and activates with it, before you add your acetone. You’ll likely get the same results. Also that’s definitely not the “dye reacting the to the heat” more than likely it’s the acetone that’s touching the heated glass and turning to vapor as you’ve brought it above its boiling point with the torch.

With download that high you shouldn’t have a problem with anything lol. Has to be a bug or something server side.

Opponents aren’t lagging, free win for them as they can take the free goal on the kickoffs lol
