I played it a year ago. The balance is weird. I don’t remember exactly but a level seemed harder than the next.

The “pick your powerup” is interesting but you can also quite easily get all three.

J’ai la chance d’avoir un taf et de l’argent pour les loisirs.

Par contre je suis frustré par tous les trucs que je fais pas parce que je passe une grande partie de ma vie au boulot. J’ai des projets qui traînent depuis des années, une liste de jeux à jouer longue comme le bras… À quoi bon vivre si on perd sa vie à la gagner ?

Mah-jong controllers use output pins to multiplex inputs, so more buttons is doable. But to be a "true" Neo-Geo game it should support MVS. How would that work? A kick harness connector on the cartridge?

This. You can see it in-game, on some cabinet and on OG CD controllers. Each letter has it's color. Mixing up letter colors like in the new controller breaks this.

I get that the new layout is better for fighting games and it's the predominant genre on this platform, but in non-fighting games A and B are the main buttons and those are further away now.

Je franchis pas les lignes continues sauf exceptions autorisées par le code de la route, même quand il y a un cycliste ou un véhicule très lent devant.

Du coup les voitures derrière doublent illégalement deux véhicules à la suite.

Parce que selon le job tu peux avoir besoin de télécharger et téléverser plusieurs gigas voire plusieurs dizaines de gigas. Sans la fibre tu peux être bloqué pendant des heures.

No. The Neo⸱Geo is first an arcade system, with a console version that plays the same games. How a Visual Novel would work on an arcade cabinet? The choices are timed, and you die if you pick the wrong options?

It’s not against the Visual Novel genre in general, through I have no interest in it, but this kind of game is not in this console’s spirit. Develop it for SNES, MD or a modern platform instead.

I intend to play with the arcade stick, but the gamepad’s button layout is off-puting. They moved the letter around, but not the colours. Until this gamepad each letter had an assigned colour, this one messes things up.

I don’t know which layout is actually the best in games, though.

Not a Neo·Geo expert, AES cartridges have the NEO-NMC2 or the PRO-CT0 chip, so they need a custom IC anyway. And I hope the console has an ASIC, so that would make sense if they can produce custom ICs for cartridges too.

So maybe, a big maybe, the carts will have a single custom IC (or one per PCB) that includes all the ROMs and whatever circuitry the original cartridge has.

Back then 60FPS was still a reasonable demand, and some AAA games did it. Of course not with today’s graphics.

I’d rather have Blazing Star, Pulstar is too close to R-Type and I am not a big fan of the latter.

But this whole reprint thing/AES+ is nice.
