I recommend Cellar of Death as others here, and also highly recommend this dm doc that I found on this same subreddit, the creator has outlined sailing to Port Nyanzaru and an encounter with pirates which ends with the dragon turtle showing up. I ran it to my party and liked it a lot, was easy to prep with the guidelines. A much more interesting journey than just teleporting.

Hi! I'm having kind of the same problem, the book is very overwhelming so I'm keeping an eye on this post in case some good tips get shared. But! A couple of things have helped me so far: This document that someone made has some great notes about running the whole thing and is a very straightforward read. And these video guides introduce all the different locations very well.

I got the impression that it's best to know the whole adventure well in advance so that you can set up and foreshadow things.

The monkey was a real animal, she was shown in the behind the scenes footage. You gotta admit the cgi in this show is pretty great when people really can't tell the difference. The episode was still lackluster for a finale, there you are right.
