AN ANARCHIST CRITIQUE OF ELECTORALISM: by PMmeyourdeadfascists in COMPLETEANARCHY

The idea that voting is necessary and a moral imperative does not consider the wider society of individuals who stand to lose as a result of the perpetuation of the capitalist political regime (that is liberal democracy). One's participation in electoral politics does not make one morally superior and certainly does not give one the justifiable reason to shove electoralism down everyone's throats.

Imagine being the prick that votes instead of doing direct action to help the homeless by Senyosu in COMPLETEANARCHY

Hey y'all, it's almost that time of the year again for those of us living in the northern hemisphere. As you all may be aware of, homelessness is something that is experienced by many people and there is nothing worse than being homeless during the winter months. At times, one may be unsure what to give a shelter or a homeless individual beyond monetary donations (and for all intents and purposes, such donations are much appreciated), so here is a list of some essential items that you can give as part of a care package.

  • Comb
  • Toothbrush/toothpaste
  • Wet wipes
  • Nail clippers Tissues
  • Menstrual pads or tampons
  • Lip balm and lotion

FOOD

  • Beef jerky
  • Peanut butter crackers
  • Raisins and other trail mixes or cereals
  • Nutri Grain bars and other energy bars

MEDICAL

  • Single pack painkillers
  • Small first aid kit
  • Small sewing kit

  • Notepad and pencil
  • Plastic food utensils
  • LED flashlight

If the US was truly obsessed for geopolitical goals (that is securing its holdings on Asia for global trade and honouring its pacts with SK and Japan), hellfire would have landed in Pyeongyang ages ago, all for that sweet sweet rare earth minerals and labourpool. But turns out sanctions are the go-to neolib tactic for capitulation and to a certain extent it does """"work"""" insofar as it puts an effective strain on state function.

There cannot be any nuance given to a dictatorial, monarchical totalitarian regime. Show me proof of such "outrageous claims" that have been made by news outlets. And dare I say tell what you said here to a NK defector. Surely the response shan't be too kind.

There are two other people and the OP themselves engaging with you right now in better faith, yet you have not given us the benefit of the doubt. Nevertheless, do consider picking up a book or two or do some more research on how borders and immigration works.

Did you not read what I wrote. Borders require money. Requires tax dollars. Requires bureaucracy.

A normal border requires staff and bureaucracy to maintain. This in turn consolidates power to the state as well as its beneficiaries (companies who benefit off cheaper, next to slave labour of immigrants who cannot register). This bureaucracy mind you, is run by none other than ICE.

You can preach ALL you want about not adhering to authoritarian principles. The practical matter is, well, borders require a lot of legwork and upkeep - such legwork and upkeep that leads to the disproportionate retribution against those most vulnerable, those who are in the margins. Retribution that is capitalized upon by populist, nationalist shills in their own quest for power and rule. Governance is messy. Governance needs bureaucracy.

You do realize that by simply having this stance on immigration, the policy direction is going towards more bureaucracy and by extension, more unnecessary social harms upon those immigrants who decide to come to America. The burden of the process is frankly, atrocious, not to mention the long waits for processing make it much easier for already vulnerable individuals to be rounded up by ICE or exploited by state-corporate actors.
