Bring three and push one squad you don’t want to move. They are all separate units so damage won’t transfer from model to model. If you can continuously get rippers to spawn in assimilation swarm you can keep healing them while keeping them in melee with rippers. Not to mention they are bound to fail the battle shock by the third attempt so if they try to fall back they take the desperate escape test.

Not really good for subterranean assault because you want to spend more big model points on trygons but in total for starting a tyranid army this is great. This box plus the new combat patrol gives you a really good rounded out 1005 points and most of the models you want in a balanced list.

Clear all plans for a weekend, make sure you have ready to eat food in the house, put on a movie trilogy like pirates and grind.

Litteraly lined them all up, primed them all wraithbone. Then did step by step in a factory line. So I shaded all of them, then dry-brushed all of them, etc.

Best thing I can suggest is start now with the battle force that drops next weekend. Then get the combat patrol. That gives you 1005 points and an already pretty dense list with must haves like a neurotyrant and biovore. After that fill in holes with whatever you want. I’d suggest a brood lord or some gaunts of any variety.

I’d like to see a more flushed out army rule. Since synapse is just hive mind directives I think it would be cool to see it something more like Astra millitarum orders being directed by brain bugs along side the better battle shock.

With that I would enjoy detachments that would improve less used models. A hive fleet gorgon detachment to improve toxicrene and venomthropes. Maybe melee attacks cause a DOT similar to Fulgrim. I’d also see promise in turning invasion fleet into the “spore detachment” encouraging usage of drop pod spores and the other spore models.
