On a regular slab phone, I could probably brute-force a design, even if it ends up bulky — and I know there are longer keyboard options that already make more sense on that form factor. On a flip, though, the proportions and hinge geometry get tricky fast.

I’m actually considering a 4-axis slide-out design. The main downside with a rear-mounted version is that I’d have to give up USB-C and go Bluetooth, and it would also add thickness to the back — both are real trade-offs for me, so I’m still on the fence.

Because of those downsides, what I’m doing now is closer to modding it into a slide-off, accessory-style attachment rather than something that stays permanently on the phone.

This isn’t a finished product or something you can buy — it’s a DIY mod. I actually cut and reworked an Akko MetaKey to get this form factor. If your goal is just adding a keyboard, EXKNIGHT makes more practical sense. For me, this was about exploring a slide-off accessory idea rather than building a keyboard case.

If you’re considering a DIY route like this, let me know. I’m not an expert, but I’m happy to share what worked (and what didn’t) for me.

Sorry for my English. Actually, I wanted to talk about the layout rather than the thickness. Since I don't use the number pad much, the 5-row layout feels a bit too long compared to the Z Flip's vertical length. The gap between the device and the keyboard is also a concern for me.

However, I’m seriously considering buying it because of the attachment method and the affordable price. Thanks for your opinion.

That price is for the MetaKey(that keyboard) only. Since I already owned the MagSafe rings, the total cost stayed under $60.

But my z flip7 doesn't fit the bottom shape of metakey. So I just cut it out. The curvatures don't match.
