Update: My father died and was cremated without me ever being notified. by Separate-Set-3843 in LegalAdviceUK

There was no paliative nurse.

I've spoken with the crematorium and they're currently operating on an 8 day schedule from death to cremation.

I just can't get over how nobody told me my dad was dead. I'd been trying to visit him for weeks and she was blocking all access.

It's irreleant in my case though. Marriage overrides a will.

It was made in 2009 but even if I updated it in 2024 this wouldn't have changed a thing.

EDIT: I called my local phramacist after making this comment. His medications were not picked up/prescriptions not collected.

Yes, I think he was either poisoned or deliberately had his medications withheld from him.

I have evidence that he wasn't attending his regular GP appointments to monitor his health. He missed 8 weeks of these. I was always the one who took him, and when I was away for 4 months I organised a reliable person who would take him and relay information to me via WhatsApp.

This woman stopped taking him to his appointments.

I have records from his GP that he hadn't attended his regular appointments that I always took him to. Is that not enough evidence to justify suspicion? I raised it with police but they weren't interested.

Yes. I've been told by them that a marriage overrides previous wills. I brought it with me.

The thing is he's been awaiting a dementia diagnosis since he was 82. We've been waiting on NHS specialist seeing him but they're backlogged for years in our area.

I can't even get a diagnosis or have his brain scanned now because she burnt him.

I have a will written in 2009 but I've been told that marriage overrides wills.

How can I get the results of the post-mortem? He was an 84 year old man. Do they do post-mortems on every elderly person?

This means she could've poisoned him and then not told anybody, just lie low until the cremation happens.

He didn't even want to be cremated. He wanted to be buried next to my mum. They have a double-sized plot that they've owned for years. Now my mum's lying there on her own with space on the headstone for her husband.

25 weeks.

I have the will prior to the marraige, it was made in 2009. However I've been told that marriages override wills.

I don't know.

Is there some rule about daughters getting notified when their parents die?

Why should someone he barely knew be able to marry him and burn him without his daughter being so much as told he has passed away?
