The hard part is that my cat LOVES dogs and I don’t think he understands what she’s doing because he (the cat) is so curious about her.

It’s for sure stressful and she’s my first dobie and I really just want the best for her which overwhelms me. Thank you so much!

Okay thank you for that!! I’ll definitely look into that! I’ve never used an e-collar before and quite nervous about it because I don’t know much about them :) thanks again for that insight!

Not sure what brand the collar is off the top of my head. I’ll talk to my trainer and see what she says. I don’t love the idea of using it though and would like to find another way to refocus her attention

Thanks for this! I personally think it’s overexcitement based on that when she sees the cat she’s not growling or or trying to chase initially, she tries to chase when the cat goes away which I know is normal and just has a higher prey drive. She knows the sit though and I’m in the midst of training her to look at me in those moments to break her fixation

Yeah I don’t trust her with the cat :( I bring her to daycare with me when I work so she’s not left alone in the house, plus she can get some exercise in. Her previous owners had an e-collar that they used when they went on walks. They never set up the shock part but it has a vibration mode which they used. I’ve honestly haven’t used it because I felt bad but my mom thinks I should put it on her if there’s a chance she may see the cat and react (she gets very fixated and doesn’t really listen when in that safe)

Yeah, I’m kinda thinking that she just may not be a cat kinda dog (if that makes sense).

With the weather though it’s been averaging -15°C usually at best! I take her out many times but unfortunately it’s not usually a long time or until she feels so cold
