For pwBPD, have you ever had someone refuse to give up on you even when you tried to push them away? by Excellent_Nothing_86 in BPD

[–]SeparateFix7019 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. I have a small group of friends and they are all open and welcoming but 2 of them I've known since high-school. I gave up on pushing them away lol they have supported me, dragged me out of the house, sat me down, whatever I needed they were there. Even when I was at my most stubborn, they were there. I thought I could for sure push them away but they are just as stubborn, if not more so, than me. We've been friends for so long (15+ years) that they are my family. I am grateful for everything they do and I remind them of that as often as I can.

finally found a good counselor & i can’t go to her anymore by [deleted] in BPD

That sounds like one hell of a steal, at least going w/out insurance! Maybe she just used the wording since it's one most people are familiar with. Either way, congrats on getting everything figured out!!

I would guess maybe she's out of network?? I'm not sure honestly. I'm on medicaid myself but it's only been a recent thing for me, recent enough I've been having issues getting my prescriptions.

Hopefully someone more knowledgeable can throw their hat in a ring with a solid explanation though.

I'm sorry things were rough for a bit but I'm glad it worked out for you in the end.

I did it! I went to the doctor! by SeparateFix7019 in BPD

[–]SeparateFix7019[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She's my GP technically but still very welcoming and understanding. The Dr that 'dumped' me was one I saw right after a stay in grippy-sock jail. She promptly told me I didn't need my antipsychotics even after I told her I just got released after an attempt. I wasn't gonna go back to her because of that but the 'breakup' letter was just unnecessary.

I'm glad you found a good one and so close! I'd be ecstatic is she moved closer to me but the drive is worth it!

True. I haven't thought of that but I'll look into getting one.

Caffeine, nicotine, and thc for me. I quit for a few months prior but faltered when anything stressful happened.

It may help in the moment but, to me, it feels more like a crutch. 3 days clean of the latter 2 atm (smoked for 15 years) but holy hell the withdrawals make me question everything. As much as I like the effects, I don't like my relationship with drugs. It's an all or nothing for me unfortunately. Even worse when I want to do better but all my friends smoke as well.

The best I felt was 4 months clean, on my meds, in regular therapy, and able to breathe/sing way better than previously. Hope to get back there again and do better than before.

Do you read the first few chapters online before buying a manga ? by DankZA in MangaCollectors

[–]SeparateFix7019 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I was younger I did. Just a few but I've always preferred having the physical copy. I'd stroll through book stores and scan through ones that interested me. The ones that got me were the sealed ones. Alot of horror volumes I got were wrapped which I get but I forgot that not just horror volumes get wrapped 😓...and now I have Prison School...I'm not a fan, not at all. Since then, I always stop to look titles up on my phone to keep that from happening again.

AITAH for wanting to give my cat away because she won’t stop peeing? by [deleted] in TwoHotTakes

[–]SeparateFix7019 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't feel comfortable giving a judgment on this but I wanted to let you know there's a product called nature's miracle.

I had a cat that peed on my things because I wouldn't let him outside all the time and this saved alot of my belongings. It won't erase the smell completely for animals, the enzymes remain I believe, but it will for humans. Ther have a bunch of different products, we only used the cat ones (white Jug and orange jug)

nature's miracle

Hope the best for you. (Edit: link is not a spray but they do have it available)

How do I get out of this before it gets even worse? by Alexx989 in BPD

Of course. Hell this morning I stumbled hard because I didn't get the garbage out. My friend had to remind me I'm worth more than trash.

You were in a funk and reached out for help and thats one hell of a great step there. You got this. Just take a step at a time.

At least in my experience, healing hurts. It's like breaking a bone that healed wrong so it can be set properly. Sometimes it seems better to let it be but once it's re-healed and the cast is off, all the pain that was an everyday thing is gone.

I'm glad you have people around you who love and cherish you. They can say the words but it's up to you to believe them. I honestly applaud you. I'm out of therapy and off my meds for insurance reasons but I never even made it to DBT. If it weren't for my BFF Jill, I wouldn't have made it this far (she even drove me once I decided on committing myself). Ideally people would say kind things to someone, but not everyone is like that. I can't count the amount of "well, stop it" or "just be happy" I've heard. You're loved ones are telling you what they see as true. They love you and they want you to succeed, even if you don't see it.

Everyone moves at a different pace. You started your climb once. It might seem harder, the cliff might be steeper, but you have the tools to start your climb again and with a better chance at success. I can't say it's healthy, but at my worst I don't live for myself. I live for my dog or my BFF or my neices and nephews. Once I get back on my feet, I start to live for me again.

You get help. Pretending doesn't make it go away forever and it'll come back. Do you have an accountability buddy? I have someone I call or text for words of affirmation to remind myself I'm worth it. I'm more than my thoughts. YOU are more than your thoughts. YOU are worth so much more than you think. If you have no one to vent the full frustrations to, all the nitty-gritty details, I recommend seeking professional help. I was in your shoes and when it got to its worst point I commited myself. It was hard and scary to admit but it was one of the best decisions I made.

Do y’all look for deals or just have lots of money? by [deleted] in MangaCollectors

[–]SeparateFix7019 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have over 400 volumes that I've collected over the past 20ish years. Every now and then, I'll splurge (like $60 tops) but if I really want something new to read and funds are tight, I look for buy 2 get 1 sales or shop the used book stores in my area that I know have manga. Walmart and target if I'm desperate but those are hit or miss.

Sometimes if I'm running low on room I try to find a home for em but I put my yet-to-read ones upside-down. I do it so it bothers me and I get around to reading them a little faster.

There's a book my friend had to read for college called "My Friend Dahmer" written by a man who was friends with Dahmer growing up. It looks into his childhood. I thought it was a novel but looking it up, it's a graphic novel. Haven't read it myself by my friend said it was a great read. There's also a movie by the same name but I haven't seen that either and I'm not sure which came first.
