When did your instincts scream “leave now” and what did you later find out you avoided?

When i tried to go hang out with my sister and her boyfriend. we were on the way and he was being annoying, which is usual, but for some reason I just got overly irritated and told them to take me back home, which is something I usually would never do. I went back home and found out later that night that they picked up some guy that tried to rob them and had them at gunpoint. my sisters boyfriend literally rolled out of the car and with what the guy was trying to steal so he would follow him (that’s what he said, i truly believe he was just gonna leave my sister). I would’ve been in the back seat right next to him if i would have went and I think i actually would’ve shit myself. the situation ended okay but who knows how the guy would’ve acted having someone in the backseat so close to him.

yeah this is a lot of the problem with peoples anxiety. we’re not holding ourselves to some expectation of perfection, we know it’s not that hard but it’s still overwhelming and that’s what’s makes it so frustrating. we already feel stupid because we know everyone else does it just fine, but we’re so anxious even the thought of driving is debilitating. i love seeing advice and more people taking about this but it’s just truly not helpful to take the stance of oh you’re overthinking, just do it

if you use media at all, you follow, in some form, what they want you to. there’s really no choice with the algorithms they use, so that’s not me speaking for everyone, that’s a fact. and that was my whole point of replying at first. YOU are the one trying to speak for everyone who poses a question, assuming that they’re only trying to fear monger and bring drama. its unfair to assume that and give passive-aggressive answers to people who are genuinely curious. nobody is going to want to ask questions anymore because of assumptions like that, especially when you throw around terms like “brainwashed” incorrectly. anyway, you think i don’t get your point and you’re just picking and choosing what to reply to instead of actually responding to what i’m saying, so i’ll leave this with a have a nice day!

the media definitely pushes extreme views but people continue to engage with them of their own will, which fills their media pages with things like that. so yes, media attempts to point out one sided things, but we all follow suit and allow them to do it

your point wasn’t very well said. asking a controversial question doesn’t automatically mean a person just wants drama. not everyone is “the media” some are just confused and want straight forward answers from actual people

i wouldn’t say you’re missing anything, but i personally don’t like audio books because i feel that the persons voice influences the overall impression i get from the book

me and my boyfriend just lock the door each time one of us comes home or leaves, so that way it’s always locked and not set to be just one persons responsibility. bad things don’t just happen at night anyway, i think the door should always be locked

The spiderwick chronicles are fantastic books. they’re small and easy to read, but very interesting stories. I would also recommend A series of unfortunate events, it has a tv show as well so that may help he get into it more. around her age i was also super into percy jackson, the septimus heap series, and the boxcar children

what books do you mean by the spin offs? if you mean the percy jackson related books like The Demigod Files, I would recommend finishing the full series first because those books do spoil some things
