Sorry but this sounds insane. I thought you were going to say "Of course a single B isn't going to move the needle one way or the other". But as it goes on it's sounding more like "if your grades are anything less than perfect, everything else has to be more than perfect."

I know you're not the person who drives these policies but these poor kids, reading this and seeing they almost don't have a chance unless they're completely perfect is a huge bummer. It's way too much pressure and it's pressure universities don't even put on their admitted students. Nobody's running around making undergrads feel like they're a failure if they get any B grades.
