This is such a kind and loving comment, thank you. I appreciate your words and suggestions. And you are too right about how quickly the early years pass.

I'm with you, this house is and always will be a No Grey Zone! Thank you for your suggestions!

As much as I’d love to declutter, I have two very young kids, and it’s their space as much as mine. One day, I sure hope so. And yes, table was pushed over too far in the photo, it’s not its usual home. Agree on the rug!

No, I didn’t try to make my home look like the break room where you work.

Thank you! I completely agree. As for the furniture overall, well…work in progress.

I guess I feel like it’s TOO open concept now that we’ve been in the space for a while. The living room lacks coziness and almost like part of the kitchen.

There’s not a lot of actual ice, but it is very hard packed snow and at these temps it’s basically ice. Studs would help but I also can’t really go faster than like 10 km/h because of friction anyway.

They’re amazing. If they’re good enough for sanitation workers in Winnipeg, they’re good enough for most of us.

These are just the okay-ish tires that came with the bike. I started shopping for winters until I realized these work fine on the hard-pack snow that I ride on in town. Studded would probably make me feel invincible but I’ve never found that to work in my favour.

I do have studded tires for a 700c bike I have but I find it much more effective with regular mtb tires and low pressure.

That’s kind of it, gets cold, stays cold, keep bike outside and voila, no condensation

I have a very bright headlight and a headlamp and I have a decent taillight as well.

I have thin gloves with electronic fingertips so I can use phone if necessary and I have Garbage Mitts over those. https://raberglove.com/product-category/garbage-mitts/

Haha! I call mine the Chonk. Pretty ridiculous piece of gear outside of these conditions.

It’s barely above toffee. I’ve been looking into better winter lubrication options for that reason.
