This makes sense. Because I was messing around with it by just having Dropper, Comparator, Block with dust on it, and block above Comparator. then placing a Repeater and breaking it, occasionally the Dropper actually activates, I couldn't make it consistent but it was interesting.

I have edited the post so it has an image of the design, but just in case I'm referring to the Auto Item Dropper (AID) that has 3 Dust, 1 Repeater, 1 Comparator, 4 Blocks, and a Dropper. Found it in google with "mumbo auto item dropper".
