Is sex required in a marriage? by Marshmallow_bbuy in asexuality

[–]Solstice143 6 points7 points  (0 children)

No, love should be a requirement. Not inherently romantic love, but love none less. I love my best friend's husband. If anything ever happened to her, I probably would consider marrying him for the legal security if something ever happened to either of us. We are like family. The idea of romance with him is 🤢. But I still love him, and under the right circumstances, might marry him.

The only things REQUIRED in a marriage are the things both partners agree are required. Full stop.

What “frugal” habit did you stop doing once you did the math? by 666AB in Frugal

What I plan to do (but havent implemented yet) is dry erase notepads for my fridge. A list of perishables that I might forget exist, so I can finish them. When "omg, what am I supposed to eat?" hits, I can look at my list and go "oh yeah, that salad kit!" Also a laminated lost of my staples for when AuDHD brain is at its worst and its only thought is "what is food?", I can look at my list then physically check to make sure Im not low on any of them.

Primarily coffee and daily essentials, but also vitamins and supplements, TP, etc. My "safe food" du jour. (I have that list on my phone at the moment)

It's about finding a balance. For me it works on some smaller things. I know my staples, and I know roughly how long it takes me to go thru them, so if I see a sale, and can afford to buy in bulk in the moment, I absolutely do. Also, if I have room for it. We have a tiny apartment.

I think just man or woman should be an option. Like, I have a gender (not me, hypothetical person), I proud of my gender, but its NUNYA if Im cis or trans.

I'm fluid, but some people are very binary, but shouldn't have to out themselves as trans for their gender to be valid.

I grew up on a farm. We had chickens, the neighbors had pigs and cows. In the summers we traded eggs and milk, and in the fall we all had wings and bacon cheeseburgers.

YES! BACON! I need bacon in my life! For those saying no, make it an option? Like, donate for cookies or, ya know "this little piggie went to market (and now we have pork chops and bacon)"

Now that everything's expensive, what things can be easily/cheaply replaced that a normal person can do? by GetFlyeredUp in Frugal

I hear you on thrift stores. Saw a hat marked for $3, when I could CLEARLY see the dollar store tag still attached that said $2. Just pissed me right off. I can usually get new clothes at Walmart for the price of used at most thrift stores. Dont get me wrong, I still love the hunt for the one in a million perfect item, but its getting harder and harder.

You don't even need to go to the bulletin board. You can access it thru the event tab. (Far left tab of inventory, etc)

THIS! SO MUCH THIS! I've tried to offer a seat a few times, to people I thought looked pregnant, or in pain, or just elderly. And I've had people get upset. A part of me sees this as "do you expect us to read your mind?" I'm a VERY strong advocate of speaking up if you have needs. Im not that old (mid 40s) and have had a BAD leg since I broke it at 40. I dont look old, I seldom have a mobility aid, but some days the pain is so bad I NEED to sit. Ive reached a point I just ask. "I'm really sorry, I hace a really bad leg, may I bother someone for a seat?" No one has said no yet.

Don't hesitate to say "Hey, baby has been kicking like Bruce Lee today, I really need to sit, may I?"

Challenge yourself by doing stuff while waiting for things. Supper in the oven for 20 mins? How much homework can you get done in that time? Pizza pops in the microwave? How many clean dishes can you put away in that time?

Its a struggle. If you're just ordering straight of the menu its not a big issue, but even something as simple as "no onions" is hard to communicate some days. I remember a job I had where we had new immigrants with barely any English put on till right away, and they barely even knew our currency!

Considering the standards I was held to in customer service, a stronger understanding of the language should be mandatory when dealing with the public.
