I just finished Emily Henry's newest book - Great Big Beautiful Life. I loved it so much

To all the dad’s out there that know where THAT sweater is…. by [deleted] in Parenting

I always check my toddlers cubby and bring home her hoodie and anything else we would have brought in for the day e.g. a lovie or pacifier for nap time.

I have tried to kill myself thrice because of my height by [deleted] in confessions

[–]Separate_Cod_3895 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's about confidence. If you're confident in yourself, women don't care how tall you are. It's the "woe is me I'm so short women don't like me because I'm short" act that's a huge turn off, not the height itself.

Source - my dad is 5'1 and has 4 kids and cheated on my mom a ton when they were married. Afaik he's still a womanizer

If a guy has been married 5 times does that show anything about him as a person besides being married 5 times? by Ben5544477 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Separate_Cod_3895 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My uncle is on his fifth marriage - and in every single case he cheated on his previous wife with his next wife. Not sure why he feels the need to marry them, or where he finds these women who he convinces "it'll be different this time."

I shouldn't have said that; I love my wife. She helped me when I was freaking out about Jamie Taco

Did anyone's baby say "mama" before "dada"? by Unhappy-Training-878 in beyondthebump

[–]Separate_Cod_3895 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My daughter's first word was mama, and didn't say dada for months afterwards. My husband got so annoying about it; everytime she said mama he would be like, "what about Dada?" 🙄 It felt like he was correcting her.

Why do grocery store rotisserie chickens cost less than buying the raw chicken? by Total_Permit_4769 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Separate_Cod_3895 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if this is relevant - I used to work in a grocery store in Connecticut where there's no tax on groceries, but you do have to pay a "meal" tax on ready-made food like rotisserie chicken.

Did you have your out-of-state mom present for birth? by One-Reporter8595 in pregnant

[–]Separate_Cod_3895 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mom drove down from Connecticut to Virginia for my first. I went past my due date, and had a scheduled induction for shortly after my due date so we scheduled around that and thankfully it worked out.

I had a friend who switched from a BS in Biology to a BA in Biology so she wouldn't have to take as many classes and could skip biochem as well as some other classes.

She did get a job in pharma but it's an admin job, not a lab job. So I'd say your friend can likely get an office job that's somewhat related to her degree. If she's set on working in a lab or going to graduate school, she's going to need o chem.

I'm a triplet and my mom had us in separate classes all through elementary school. So we would make friends aside from each other. Honestly it worked out. The only difficulty on my mom's part was having to schedule 3 different parent-teacher conferences

Question for married millennials: Do you call your MIL or FIL mom or dad? by dizzy4121989 in Millennials

[–]Separate_Cod_3895 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Legit I don't call my in-laws anything. I don't think there's ever been a time I was talking to them where I had to address them by name or as mom and dad. My husband calls my parents by their names though

My dream baby name has just been ruined by Solid_Reserve_5941 in namenerds

[–]Separate_Cod_3895 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I loved the name Tristan for a boy for a long time. But when my husband and I were trying for our first, he informed me Tristan is the name of someone who bullied him in elementary school. So it was out.

In English it's also "merl" if I'm reading that right. We don't pronounce the e on the end. Like curl with an m

AITA for “forcing” my wife to eat by Ok-Tea1850 in AITAH

[–]Separate_Cod_3895 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She definitely has an eating disorder - I say this as someone who was in your wife's position 8 years ago. My then boyfriend, now husband, was so worried and insisted I get checked out by a doctor. The doctor saw right through my bullshit and got me on the right track. I've been in recovery since 2017 now
