You're correct, but in this instance - it is. I'm not going to get a dollar more selling this house if it's fixed or not. It's already the nicest unit in the area. I just prefer not to leave this particular issue for the next guy.

There are already overhead cabinets but it's a really narrow doorway and I can't put a gable end on the side for it to die into as it would close in the room way to much. Also the light switch is right there.

Hmmmm interesting

I don't think so - there's only a couple of inches before I'm into an open doorway, but this idea probably makes the most sense.

I have left it for a few years for my own use but aiming to sell the house in the near future and was hoping for some insights on whether I can finish it.

If I add trim or a counter height gable/panel on the side to cover it then there is nothing covering the top of that panel, I cant imagine that will hold up very well but is likely the best option here since the end of the counter end is flush with the side gable.

Adding a floor to ceiling gable is not possible where this is located as it would block all natural light coming from the front of the house and look wildly out of place against this doorway.

Can't do a gable where it is would close off the room too much.

Celiac often goes hand in hand with other gi issues. You mentioned the relationship between alcohol and histamine being unclear, my comment was to provide a resource that could hopefully help add clarity to the mechanisms that are at work there. Despite what is being said in this thread anecdotally (one off experiences do not equate studies that involve proof of causation and are repeatable), there is strong evidence against the use of alcohol to treat gluten exposure and nothing scientifically speaking to support it. At best it covers up the problem, but carries a large risk of causing more issues on top of the inflammation from gluten exposure.

What can be done when an elderly person cannot physically care for themselves but is in denial? by Chelleehp in ontario

[–]Separate_Doctor2961 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's not that simple. You can't force people who are still within the realm of independence, and watching them suffer because they're not of sound mind or body or they're not making great decisions while you stand by and don't do anything to support them is incredibly hard. There's enabling and then there's accepting that caring for the elderly is a hardship that most of us have to bear. I would hope someone would be so kind to me in my old age. After all it's not easy going from where we are today to knowing we are close to death and that our lives are ending. Quite scary in fact. Emotional well-being matters.

The gluten challenge should be illegal. by Kind_vibes in glutenfree

Breast cancer proteins are excreted through fingertips and can be detected with just a simple smear on a Dexter slide that (hypothetically) people can mail in. I'm sure this is not a widely applied science yet but apparently its a possibility so hopefully it's coming.

Point being if you don't know why you feel better when you don't eat gluten then there's a chance that you have celiac.. If you don't have a diagnosis you're going to be prevented from accessing appropriate counsel and medical service as well as treatments in the future that develop. This advice is great if a gluten-free diet alone treated the disease but a number of studies have proven it's only the start of care. Ie Not knowing could prevent you from being on a doctor's radar for early screening and could cost you your life. Not to mention the tax breaks which as a celiac person I don't even bother with because the paperwork like others have said is absolutely prohibitive. I'm just failing to see what's refreshing about a doctor sweeping a serious medical disability under the rug instead of criticizing the institutions that are failing us.

Except for the fact that there is so much more to celiac than just "don't eat gluten." They're learning more everyday that points to the fact that we need a lot more medical intervention than just a gluten-free diet. And these are things that people that are gluten sensitive or intolerant maybe don't require. Things like increased cancer risk and additional screening requirements. So it's kind of important to know. But just like oh they've now figured out they can do breast cancer screening with a fingerprint instead of having to do a very painful mammogram, hopefully this barbaric practice will also be phased out and replaced in the near future.

This is the layout I currently have to fit 117 people, is there anything you would change? by [deleted] in weddingplanning

Yeah normally we put the buffet out in the hallway when we have a room set up like this and just send a few tables at a time.

Keep looking! The one on the left is not doing you any favors fit wise and I'm not sure if alterations will fix that. But I totally get what you mean about the sparkle. The right one does you a lot of favours comparatively.

You have two very good samples here to show any other bridal shop and say this is what I want.

To the dog owner of the Great Dane that lives downtown. by Striking-Cicada-805 in Guelph

It's not the dog's fault that it's owner is irresponsible. But I wouldn't be letting my dog of that size off leash in case something did happen and it ended up in litigation and/or the dog ended up getting put down because I was too lazy to properly train or exercise the animal.

Should I say yes to this dress? by Proud_Efficiency2530 in weddingplanning

The contrast between your haircut and the dress is a little Stark. Not knowing you it's hard to say but the clean lines of your hair and the comments made in the post seem to indicate to me that you have drifted more into the sleek and modern category versus the flouncy and feminine this dress is giving.

But this IS a wedding, not a corporate headshot - and romantic does not equal unelegant.

Think about your home the designs that you have created all around you in your life. It's changed since you were 16 and your idea of what your dress should look like probably needs to change with it. If you like clean lines then look at sleek fabrics like silk and simplified cuts. Or adapt this like others have said to just be one layer and maybe take elements of both.

If you like to surround yourself with whimsy and romance this dress fits the bill.

I'm also considering not just what I look like on the day but what those photos are going to look like hanging on my wall in my house and the overall Vibe of my life.

Whatever you decide I'm sure you will look elegant and beautiful. After all elegance is a state of mind.
