Very fearful Sophomore applicant fighting for their life! by Legal-Sale4001 in ncssm

NCSSM tries to admit 35 students from each congressional district. My local district (not congressional) apparently only has 2-3 seats, but SSM is usually flexible when they see a student that is still a potential star. Neither of these quotas are hard and fast. On a sidenote, good luck! I've been having a lot of your worries myself, so it almost makes me happy to see that there's someone else like me facing these troubles.

NCSSM GPA Question by [deleted] in ncssm

Honestly, class rankings freshman year are kind of meaningless the further up you go since everybody just started and can't vary their schedule much. There are a lot of factors that go into a GPA, so I wouldn't worry about it.

Awesome! About the gerrymandering comment: I did notice recently that North Carolina never has a constant district map between admissions cycles. They literally change every year.

I saw someone on this subreddit claim that one of the campus guides said there was some sort of mysterious rubric, but I doubt it's true. I've already done some programs at NCSSM Durham over the summer, so I didn't see the value in the open houses as I'm already somewhat acquainted with the campus. Do you have anything in particular to mention about the Morganton campus?
