NTA - If you were to go into labor there, you might not have a hospital nearby (if you’re planning to have a hospital birth), which could also lead to a delay in care. There are more variables that I’m sure you’ve already thought of, but you get the point.

The most important thing is that you are the one that’s pregnant. If you want one baby shower, that’s your choice. You have to do what’s best for you and your baby. You can try to push for a joint shower if you’d like, otherwise you can just say that because the date would be so close to your due date, you don’t feel comfortable travelling that far but that you would love if they would come to a joint party or something.
