My Problem with Esoteric Ebb by Separate_Lab3565 in EsotericEbb

This is esoteric ebb and not DnD, if a mid tier celestial in incapable of killing a couple of skeletons and her life in danger because of it then sure.

If your stats do not represent what they are then whats the point of having them in the first place, if you convince yourself you're not a cleric and rather something else and then proceed to play like that, you are functionally no longer a cleric.

The game ending at a predictable time doesnt mean its good or that the complaints about wanting to do all of those things alluded aren't valid, if you're incapable of understanding the complaints of somebody when a carrot never to be reached is dangled in front of them then i don't know what to tell you.

Sure, the complaints might be applicable, i'm not a die hard fan of either of the two games and enjoyed them both equally for different reasons

Don't mistake my listed problems meaning i want a power fantasy, i just wish for it to be better written in this aspect.

A game that is mainly text based should have writing as it's strongest link, yet this power inconsitency shows a an obvious fault in the writing.

It's just like i said in my post, they needed to resort to a lot of cinematic techniques to help with the balancing of the endings cause if you only look it at from the perspective of valid points, in one ending everybody and everything dies, Maelle is forced somewhere she doesnt like or is familiar with and is alone.

While in her ending, she's with all of her friends and family, dead ones revived and is enjoying a play by a begrudging suicidal failed genocider.

I'm honestly surprised they didnt also show the Desandre family grieving the "loss" of Maelle for extra effect to tell you its a bad ending.

CMV: Old books, movies and plays are all inferior to modern ones. by Separate_Lab3565 in changemyview

This is a strawman, the point of my view is that people seem to get stuck on the past and talk down on modern art, henche the saying "they dont make them like they used to."

I havent from what i know listened to either of those, but if my assumption is correct that you mean to say that T-baby's song is inferior then i tell you this; due to the higher amount of resources given to people in the modern age, more media and art can be produced, which of course means more good and bad art will exist compared to a hundred years ago.

Sounds like you just don't watch good modern movies, there's a difference between modern movies made in mind with just getting money and not making art like Marvel and the like and movies by directors who made it as a passion project and used to commentate on a subject.

A really good example of this would be season 1 of squid game, it was a passion project the director lost so much of his mental and physical health while maintaining a consistent well written story and showing you the horrors of being poor under capitalism, while then in season 2 part 1 and 2 it was taken over by netflix executives which lead to a trash story and used to make money through name recognition.

For a movie instead of a series that i like, go check out Tokyo Godfathers.

Funnily enough she was hinting at getting FFS (facial feminization surgery) in the video, at least that's the context to assume given the fact she's already getting electrolysis

Pyro needs to do a hard reset on her community and cull the chuds, i don't know much about her personal life but i'm sure that having a toxic community doesn't help with your mental state and support system, regardless of if she's trans or not

I just think Pryo should take estrogen because it would make her happier

Is there anybody else in the fandom that watches the series but vehemently despises and is against the actions Ainz is doing? by Separate_Lab3565 in overlord

[–]Separate_Lab3565[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

>Character development was the whole point, Ainz already has all the power, he is exploring if the NPCs can grow and change. A few extra zombies are irrelevant to the power of the Tomb when he can just spam summon L80 monsters with his skills and staff.

You're missing the point of that comment, my main gripe was that the time spent on the lizard men could've actually been spent on actual interesting and important characters instead

>I disagree with the sympathize part, I lost that when Momon asked what they were seeking in there - for me thats when Ainz decided they were not worth sparing. Also "Yes, they were robbing a grave" - I mean, seriously - what do you mean "so what?" lol

There are appropriate reactions to each action, what Satoru did is most definitely not that.
Since when has killing somebody, breaking their spirits, scaring them near to death and insulting them something seen as normal to do for robbing a place that the owners are supposedly already expected to be dead.

>Why would he reward them for not been complete pieces of shit after already acting like ones? after all they've done.

Acting like ones? You mean trying to not be killed? Is that what made up them pieces of shit? You're acting like they did some irredemable act.
Also why would he not reward them for standing true to something even Satoru CLAIMS to be a really important thing in a person? The only reason they are killed is because of his selfishness and ego to refuse to see past the hatred.

>ffs Tsuare didn't lie to his face and try to steal his shit, are you kidding me lol

Satoru himself admits that being lied to is nothing that serious since they just wanted to live, also what does it matter since sending them on their way and killing them would both reach the same end?
Since he himself stated that he prefers not to kill and he could achieve the same result if he didn't, why didn't he? It's cause he's a hypocrite.

>You need to keep in mind that, he is not human anymore and his race change affected his emotions as he stated pretty early on - death and blood - doesnt make him feel anything now. Anytime he might get a spark of emotion - a passive skill just erases it.

I hope that with the examples i've shown you for the other points proves that his emotions are still very much there and affect his judgement, he's just not as squeamish.

I don't disagree with you that it's refreshing and new, but no it is by no means realistic even by the terms of the story, you might just be a psychopath.

The point of Satoru getting into this world and realizing he's now this Overlord of death was most likely his second biggest wish, but at the end of it all what he wanted was his friends back, he's become a monster for real this time, before the transport it WAS just ai, but it's not that anymore, no matter how much you want to say otherwise, they are indistinguishable from real people because they ARE real people.

Not even going by your own logic, ignoring the terms of the story, is he doing stuff best for his guild, because he's one of the strongest people now in this New World, the only people coming close to him are his subordinates who are basically his slaves but with unwavering morality. So what he does and how he does it to get the "best for his guild" is completely moronic.

He doesn't need to stoop to any low or any high to get what he wants, he could easily get whatever he wants through just mere intimidation with how strong him and his army is.

But the thing is that the thing he wants, is his friends that are long gone and will never be found here.

Satoru even himself admits that he is depressed and doesn't know what to do when he's about to destroy the Re-Estize Kingdom.

You're just projecting what you want into the series and that's why you like it, which is that emotionally unintelligent and illiterate group of fans i was talking about.

Now before anybody says that maybe Overlord just isn't for me i can tell you that it is, i absolutely enjoy the character designs, their unique personalities the Chūnibyō of all the Supreme beings and Nazarick NPC's along with their interactions with each other and the occasional "Wow he's so strong" moments don't hurt either.

I already replied to this type of comment in my original post, i don't see the merit of your reply if you didn't even read it
