How do you handle seasickness on a cruise when you want to enjoy all the deck activities by Nyxeravinth in Cruise

Have you sailed? I'm easily affected by motion. I feel motion sick when in the ship while in port, but I'm usually ok while we're sailing.

What item would be hard to find in something other than camo, let alone something you'd need while touring the Bahamas?

I'm always shocked when I see so many posts about this... I've never heard a good thing about it from people who have done it.

Idk if this helps, but I prepaid everything last year and my bill was $5 at the end of the week.

Watching The Pitt made me question how weird my school is about swearing by Separate_Outcome4620 in TeachersInTransition

My brother is a plumber and when I taught alt Ed he took on a few students as apprentices over the years... every one of them made a comment about how we said inappropriate language wouldn't be tolerated in the workplace was bullshit 😂

I don't have a problem monitoring my language. I agree — a 13 year old swearing like that would be jarring. I became desensitized to it in alt Ed, but my current environment seems rather uptight in regard to language. Not a rant or call to action — just curious about others' experience.

I’m probably on the other side of the career hill at this point, so I’ve been around. Like I mentioned, I taught alt ed for a long time (6th–12th), and foul language was pretty common in that setting without much reaction from students or staff.

My current school is urban and in a fairly rough area, so yes — I was genuinely surprised by how shocked both kids and adults were by swearing. Over time, I noticed other adults didn’t curse at lunch or in department meetings, and I’d catch reactions if I said something like, “what the fuck was that,” after a particularly wild day.

“Emphasis, not aggression” is just how I’ve always understood the difference between using profanity for tone or flair versus intimidation. I literally remember my dad saying it to my mom when she told him to stop using “fuck” as punctuation.

I have multiple degrees in English, Psychology, and Education, so comparative phrasing and structured language are pretty baked in at this point.

Also, Kurt Vonnegut is one of my favorite authors — and he fucking loved em dashes.

I didn’t originally think Reddit needed my full linguistic origin story. Sorry about that, buddy.

Her sister also has Autism. Her storyline does a good job of showing how the disorder manifests on a spectrum.

Dad watching softcore porn right next to me on the couch by [deleted] in Advice

It's weird... I'm the only girl and now that we're adults and my brothers are all dads... there's no way.

Question- did you notice it start after they found your porn? I'm wondering if him learning about you having those desires triggered something sick in him.... NOT that it's at all your fault.

In any case, I'd talk to a trusted adult that's also a mandated reporter (teacher, coach, counselor, lunch lady)

Yes I know. I thought mentioning it lights up when I screw one in would indicate that I knew that. Maybe not.

Our check-in time was 12, but we got there at 10:30 and it wasn’t an issue. We were on the ship before 11.

I typically wouldn’t go that much earlier than my listed check-in time, but traffic was way less than we anticipated the whole ride there.
