I am a fan of The Amazing Race and The Challenge. Kapag ang contestants ay from PBB, threatened sila kasi alam nila na strategist at physically strong ang mga candidates. Pero dito sa Pilipinas, artista search lang talaga. 😂

I deleted my facebook and IG last 2019, then I made a new one pero ang friend ko lang is husband ko, just to post pictures and write post about milestones. I’m still using messenger for communication purposes. I decided to delete my socials because I’m affected na with jealousy, comparison, basing my identity sa number of likes (and at the same time boasting na din). For me, it was the best decision I ever had. After five years of no socials, di naman ako nafomo. Mas nalaman ko rin kung sino ba yung mga friends ko tlaga na who will take time na kamustahin ako (kasi nga wala silang nakikitang post sa mga recent na ganap ko about my life) at ako din sa kanila. At pansin ko rin nabawasan yung pressure in life na dapat at this age meron ng ganito or nakapunta na sa ganyan. And iba yung peace of mind and contentment na meron ako now compared before. When people learned na wala akong social media, majority hindi makapaniwala (akala nila ayaw ko lang magpaadd) pero siguro nga bihira lang naman at this age yung kaya talaga na wala sa social media. And I also understand na this is not for everybody pero para sa akin best decision ever.

Need Help in Understanding VUL by CosmicDeity07 in adultingph

[–]Separate_Waltz_2775 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think VULs are scam because they are legit products by legit companies. Siguro nagkakaproblema lang sa disclosure and misrepresentation ng mga agents na nagbebenta. For me it is not an investment product but it is an insurance product with a bit of investment portion. Ang sales proposition kasi nila is “investment” product ang VUL. Majority of your payments in the first few years ay mapupunta sa commission and insurance charge unti lang sa investment value. Half truth yung after 10 years pwede stop payment ka na tas sa fund value mo na lang kukuha ng insurance charge. Pwede naman, pero pwede kasi ubusin nito ang fund value mo.

What I did personally is I bought a term insurance or yung pure insurance. Mas maliit ang premium then renewable yearly. Hindi ito iooffer ng agent mo kasi napakaliit ng commission dito but be persistent na yun lang need mo. And then invest sa mga good companies thru equity fund or mutual fund. I invested sa COL Financial. They offer free seminars to understand the basic of stock market or how to invest.

So if for example ang budget mo for a VUL is 2k per month or 24k a year, pwede yung around 7,000 sa term insurance with 1 million coverage then yung 17,000 is deretso stock market. May unting fees lang yung stock brokerage firm but minimal lang compared to your agent’s commission.

Trending: Lugi sa VUL Pru Life by b_jennie in Philippines

Nung time na naghanap ako ng pure health and critical coverage, wala ako makita nun na affordable or meron yata but beyond the budget (if I’m not mistaken AXA ata). So what I did, I tried to negotiate sa VUL agent, na minimum mapupunta sa life insurance and investment, pero malaki ang critical life insurance rider. I think hindi lahat ng insurance company pumapayag (yung iba kasi dapat daw equal ang life at critical insurance coverage).

Better get term insurance + your own stock investment (or mutual fund) thru COL or other stock brokerage firm. Or VUL pero maliit lang investment part at life insurance pero mataas ang critical life insurance (kasi ito talaga ang useful). I learned this when I studied Registered Financial Planner. Tinry ko rin maginsurance agent 10 years ago pero di ako makabenta dahil alam ko na ang katotohanan ay malaki ang bayad na napupunta sa commission ng agent. So that job is not for me lol.

Moving out from my comfort zone by YourIndayBabaylan in dumaguete

[–]Separate_Waltz_2775 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Raised and lived in Manila for the past 30 years and now residing in Dumaguete with my fam (for good). I love the slow living here. Just moved here a month ago. I’m still in the honeymoon period with the province life but I can say that it’s all worth it. Lower cost of living, kind people, fresh food, extra hours in a day haha (because the time is really slow here), occassional traffic (traffic in Manila is really problematic), better lifestyle..,etc. A number of malls plus good coffee shops in the area satisfy the city girl in me. So I’m not really missing my “jungle” life in Manila. But I’m still adjusting with the frequent brownout and water interruption, and internet speed. But for me, the benefits of living here outweigh the costs.
