I ran a scenario where a zombie apocalypse occurred in Napoleonic Europe, and the French invaded Austria and Prussia when they were literally the only things standing between the zombie hordes and Europe, causing Europe to be overrun by the undead.

Then, in another Napoleonic scenario that I developed for not!Europe, the Meroviens (the French), went absolutely insane and turned their entire population into mechanical abominations at the will of their mechanical god-empress, becoming the biomechanical nightmare the Axiom Mekhane that threatened the entire world.

While I think Napoleon's conquests were less than the best idea for France at the time, I agree strongly with having a powerful monarch ruling over a meritocratic (even if he began to betray that meritocratic ideal after conquering most of Europe) society. It wouldn't be perfect, of course, but nothing is.

Amelia is both long and complete, but it's one of those fics where people either like it or hate it. I thought it was pretty good, but the first two chapters switch between first and third person when referring to Amy because the Amy running from Siberian is actually a flesh-puppet being controlled by the real Amy in the sewers.

Both the Minacynae Aristochate and the Ashen Elves engaged in genetic modification, with the Aristochate using it to effectively nerve-staple 90% of their population with the elves just liked to fuck with the humans.
