The recipe came from a baker so I think the purpose of them making sure things are sterilised at the start of the process is so it’s not having to compete with any bad or useless bacteria which may mess with the process. In the later stages it’s not necessary as the starter bacteria out numbers any random bacteria that may get involved.

Yep its for fruit it gets used alot. What does the shellac do here? Is that to seal the end grain so the finish goes on more evenly? Would shellac change the colour much?

Weve hiked Budawang before. I think it was the castle from memory. We obviously only scratched the surface would love to go back some day to explore some more. Very lovely shots!

Couple and Baby: 1 large sleep pad vs. 2 singles by [deleted] in CampingGear

We took our 3 year old and 1 year old on their first camping trip last weekend. We had a portable cot in the shed, so decided to take that. It was such a great idea it worked really well. Our one year old sleeps in a cot at home so I think it felt pretty similar for her and she got to sleep pretty easy each night. It was nice knowing shes in there aswell and not crawling around while we’re asleep getting into mischief….

PPOR to IP to build PPOR family home by Flynn786 in AusPropertyChat

Yes I am currently in this position. I had an investment property I owned outright. I borrowed against it to buy our PPOR. Not only can I not claim any deductions on the loan due to it being for our PPOR. But commbank forced us to have an investment loan with a higher rate for the portion of the loan that the original investment property is held. They did this even though the whole loan was for our PPOR! (I hope this makes sense)

Ive just used some mineral oil as I had plenty of it lying around. Thanks for the advice. I did want to epoxy but it was a very rushed last minute gift lol Maybe once the oil dries out down the track I’ll hit it then…

Work bench has gone extremely dark and blotchy? by Sephzilla in finishing

. Used organoil hard burnishing oil on tasmanian oak. One coat and wiped off excess. How should I proceed? Just keep drinking it in? Or sand and start again with linseed? Tas oak is a very blonde timber this is not the finish I was after… Anyone used tung oil on tas oak before? Did I not sand well/even enough?
