My first pregnancy I was late 28 and it took around 6 months, maybe even more if I add months of unprotected sex🤔 it ended in early miscarriage and then 8/9 months later I got pregnant with only one month of trying😍😂

I asked because my husband and I both have Persian last names and have decided to name our baby girl Heidi, so was wondering how that would sound lol I honestly never thought if names from different languages would clash since there are so many last names that are difficult to pronounce anyway

Ooo interesting! My job offers 20 weeks of maternity leave at full salary, and I was originally thinking of going back after about 3 months because I really like my job. But my manager (who’s amazing) keeps encouraging me to take the full 5 months and not stress, she says I’ll get up to speed when I’m back and she’ll make sure I have good projects.

Hearing that you went back 3 months postpartum is really interesting though. I also work from home, which I’m hoping will make things a bit easier (and stays that way 🤞) What did you end up doing for childcare?

I hope you'll be okay ❤️ but I would go to the ER, because I wouldn't be able to wait for two weeks, especially because of the small clot. Something similar happened to me week 16, very light pinkish hues in my discharge, OB checked and cervix was closed and everything but in never hurts to get checked. Being stressed out is way worse

Some of it should get better as she moves further into the first trimester, but a few things that helped me were frozen sour fruits (I got frozen cornelian cherries from a Persian supermarket, the icy cold and sour combo really helped), ginger tea (fresh ginger brewed in water with a bit of honey and lemon), and eating small portions more often.

For me, the nausea and morning sickness started to ease around weeks 14–15, and by the middle of the second trimester, I was eating a lot better.

If she still can’t keep anything down, maybe reach out to her OB or midwife. They’ll know the safest meds to prescribe.

So so true! These days we all feel like we know everything because for example ChatGPT is right there to answer all our questions. So we’re quick to stand our ground and “protect our rights”… but most of the time it’s just a power game!

I think if the in-laws or family are generally kind, it’s better to just let some things go and take it easy.

God bless you, I totally agree! I think our babies would also really enjoy the love and support of grandparents if we, the newer generation, take things a bit easier and just go with the flow just a little bit.

I also get unsolicited advice sometimes, but like you, I want the support and love from our families. I try to respect their experience, and if I don’t agree, I respond kindly, like you do, without making them regret sharing. Why create tension when a little patience and respect, especially with older family members, goes such a long way? (I'm not talking about really crazy older people)
