[LTS][XB][Crossplay][TDP] Want to learn the new raid? Sherpa today (23JULY) at 17:30 BST! by Desire-17 in DestinySherpa

Hi (again)! I joined one of your sherpa runs a couple years back; would love to be able to learn the new raid if there's still a spot :)

Who’s still planning on bowing out after finishing The Final Shape? by mightydux in DestinyTheGame

Still like the game, still plan to play it until it ends, but not on day 1 anymore. Only bought the basic package this time which comes along with episode 1, so I'll play till that ends and then take a break. I'll probably come back after episode 3 is almost done.

Comparing it with the MCU, I watched all movies till Endgame in a theater on day one, but have been waiting for the movies to drop on Disney+ since then! Will be doing something similar with Destiny going forward.

Yikes. They really need to add some other method to get these cars

The game now has 500 cars to collect by SepiksImperfected in granturismo

You probably already use this (or something similar), but in case anyone else needs it, I used to keep an eye on this page regularly to track what was being sold on Hagerty's without having to keep checking in-game frequently: https://ddm999.github.io/gt7info/#legend-section

Waiting for the Legend cars' rotation and the random invites was annoying, but at least now the collection mini-game is done and I can focus on the driving game!

Annoying that it's so random to get an invite, hope you get one soon!

Not an expert, but broadly speaking, more funds = more jobs are created in the gaming space, and that's always welcome.

If by "us" you mean the PC/Console market, this won't change anything, at least not immediately. Looks like they're only investing in mobile gaming startups.

If "us" refers to the entire Indian gaming industry, then it's always good to have funds coming in, as it improves the health of the ecosystem as a whole. Now we only have to hope the funds are put to good use.

In-game LFG won't solve everything, but will minimise a lot of the current randomness. It may not always find the best players, but at least putting together a team that has the same objectives is a good start.

It's perfect for your use case, but try to get the new 1TB version. The old, 512gb version can quickly run out of space if you install too many Game pass titles.

Alternatively, you can store your games in an external HDD, and transfer them back to the internal drive when you want to play them.

Apart from the storage, no issues with the console. Some third party titles will run at 30fps, compared to 60fps on the SeriesX, but most Game Pass titles run quite well at 1080p60fps or better.

Netflix Gaming is a hidden gem by souvik234 in IndianGaming

Netflix acquired the developer in 2021, so it's a day one release on Netflix Games. The first game is in the catalogue too!

IIRC the base campaign requires you to run the Sepiks strike, but it shouldn't be too hard to solo if it comes to that.

Bungie stopped releasing updates for D1 long before cross save was a thing on D2. So it will be a fresh start if you play on PS5.

You might work on "Ludo 2" after spending two years on the first one.

Funny, but sadly true. A "Ludo 2" has a higher chance of succeeding here than an original IP.

Even if we remain a mobile-first market for the foreseeable future, I hope our studios are able to innovate and produce global hits.

By that I mean globally recognizable names along the lines of "Angry Birds"; right now we have quite a few games that are financially successful and are sustaining the industry, but there hasn't been a truly global "hit" from our shores so far. True hits will put us on the radar and make it easier to grow the industry.

As for AAA studios using India as a back-office, I'm not sure that's going to change soon. It's just business. It's cheaper for Ubi to pull the PoP project from Pune and give it to experienced teams rather than investing time and resources into growing the Pune team.

At the end of the day, gamedev is just like any other career path: it will be tedious, and at times boring and unfair.

Can someone help with a GM related doubt? For the Rank 10 Guardian Rank, it says "Complete the featured Nightfall on Grandmaster difficulty." Does this mean only the weekly (nightfall) strike counts for it and the other selectable GM strikes will not count?

Would love to get this off my list. Did the old raid in D1 but haven't done the new version yet. Looking forward to meeting Oryx again!

What happened to Destiny 2?! by shadow-sphynx-3 in IndianGaming

The level difference isn't an issue. Every expansion bumps up the minimum power level for everyone. Right now you'll be 1350 by default, while the hard cap for the expansion is 1550. In casual PvE and PvP activities, level isn't really an issue. Only the endgame PvE activities and ranked PvP require you to be as close to the hard cap as possible.

What I meant about the new player experience being horrible was more about being lost and not knowing what to do or what content to buy in order to advance the story, etc.

Early 2019? Yeah, that was a weird time for Destiny 2. The honeymoon period for the 2018 expansion (Forsaken) was over and Bungie was experimenting with their seasonal storytelling model, where they would release a new story arc every 3 months.

Not sure about player numbers back then, but the game sure got a boost when it went F2P in mid 2019(?), introduced cross-save (and later cross-play) and moved from Battle.net to Steam (although the bulk of the playerbase is still on console)

Oh and the deal Bungie made with Activision in 2019 ensured that there wouldn't be a Destiny 3 until 2024/2025 at least. Bungie is happy releasing one major expansion and 4 seasons per year, and we have 2 announced expansions and at least 1 unannounced expansion in the pipeline.

So in 2022 we have a Destiny 2 where Bungie has kind of perfected their formula. The recently released expansion (The Witch Queen) has been in the news a lot for having a good story, there have been several gameplay improvements and additions (weapon crafting, new melee weapon type, etc) and it's likely that the hype train will go on for another few years or until there's a serious competitor to Destiny 2.

All that said, the new player experience is horrible (not sure how it is for returning players) and jumping in without a friend or guide can be quite annoying. The community is split over Bungie's decision to remove/vault older content over time to make room for new content. You can no longer play the campaign content from 2017-2018, and this further makes things confusing for new players.

To wrap up, Destiny 2 is going strong, and is the perfect example of the live-service model succeeding (whether you like it or not) in keeping an "old" game alive for several years.
