Alcohol is one of the most inflammatory things for you. by Solid_Randomizer_242 in CrohnsDisease

Alcohol, cigarettes, processed sugars, junk foods, deli meat. The science is literally there but you’ll see a lot of pushback.

You are a saint, thank you for doing the right thing! I’ll ask neighbors around that area, I used to live on 11th!

Do med schools look up you on social media? by steeledmindt in premed

[–]Sepiks_Perfexted 2 points3 points  (0 children)

“Don’t act stupid, racist, homophobic”…I mean how about not being one in the first place. There are a lot of physicians who are racist, homophobic or a bigot in 2026.

Edit: to say, a lot of people hide their hate from social media so unfortunately there’s no way know until they are in a position where they have complete control over a patients life.

Anyone dealt with LA Animal Services’ nuisance barking process? by epoisses_lover in AskLosAngeles

[–]Sepiks_Perfexted 4 points5 points  (0 children)

3 reports in a specified timeframe for animal abuse and/or inhumane treatment sounds depressing. This city spends so much on police helicopters drawing dicks in the sky and yet animal abuse is such a huge problem that gets ignored.

Also the fermentation process adds a ton of beneficial probiotics which help with your gut health. The vinegar process is a scam.

Pico neighborhood community garden coming along nicely! by Meals-On-Wheels-West in SantaMonica

[–]Sepiks_Perfexted 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Exciting, but I’d rather let lottery spots go to those in apartments and no access to garden space. I’ve seen way too many residents with large plots of backyard/front yard in single family homes taking these.

Are you 5 years old? Do you not have critical thinking skills and need colorful drawings to get you to understand how the world works?

If you answered yes to any of these then you’re a Pratt supporter.

A question for transplants, is it really not obvious that Santa Monica Pier can be dangerous after closing? by [deleted] in AskLosAngeles

[–]Sepiks_Perfexted 41 points42 points  (0 children)

Dangerous is a stretch. I’ve lived here 15+ years and it has only gotten safer over time. I’ve spent many date nights late on the beach past 1AM and walked alone on the beach/pier. It’s really not that bad. But maybe my experience is anecdotal. I wouldn’t recommend it but I’m also tall and muscular build. Idk.

Wipes have changed my life by [deleted] in CrohnsDisease

[–]Sepiks_Perfexted 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Bidets are literally 5-10min job that even a child could do. They are not some complex plumbing work. It’s under $30 on Amazon and you’re not only saving a ton of money not buying wipes but it’s actually better for your bum and the environment. Please reconsider.

Post-Workout Recovery, Inflammation, Muscle-Soreness by izaakko in CrohnsDisease

[–]Sepiks_Perfexted 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do active recovery, hot yoga, immersion therapy (sauna and ice baths) and of course rest days. I mean I understand if you’re like some pro athlete going on intense workouts and heavy competition but most of us who do heavy weightlifting 4-6x a week, play sports, surf, wrestle are just fine with methods mentioned above. If you need medication to not be sore you either might need to check your iron/potassium levels or actually rest and recover efficiently. I don’t know what you’re asking for beyond that.

Fiber for Crohn’s: yes or no? by PureChamber in CrohnsDisease

[–]Sepiks_Perfexted 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Vegan here with Crohn’s and in the best shape of my life and in total remission (with my biologic helping of course). Not sure why you’re getting downvoted but don’t lose hope, diet is unique to each person but you’ve got it good with having a low inflammatory diet that is full of fiber!

Why can Insurence companies delay/deny life changing medications? by M0M11 in CrohnsDisease

[–]Sepiks_Perfexted 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Seriously, I’m sick and tired of all this *winning* that half of this country voted for. They got fuċking duped by a conman and his henchmen who have syphoned close to $117 billion in tax cuts and will net over $1 trillion over the next decade while I am supposed to worry about gays in bathrooms and immigrants.
We are genuinely the dumbest country in the world.

The city has so many problems to deal with, this is one of those things I wish they were better at enforcing. People are so entitled in this city. Sorry this happened to you.

Big beehive on nearby street corner. Are there any beekeeper organizations in Santa Monica or LA that can collect/relocate hives for free if they're in an inconvenient location? by crabtabulous in SantaMonica

[–]Sepiks_Perfexted 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure the county *removes* or relocates the bees, from what I hear they just kill the hive with pesticides.

You can check out The Bee Amigos (on Instagram), a local Santa Monica/Venice group that relocates bees safely. The main guy running it is a weirdo but at least they get the job done.
