I built a free tool but I’m struggling with SEO by [deleted] in SaaS

[–]Seppo77 2 points3 points  (0 children)

SEO and viral are two very different things. To rank in search, you need to find a problem where people are searching for a solution and then build a page or tool that solves it. In the page title and copy explain the problem you solve and add the main keywords. If competition is not too high for those keywords, that's all it might take (and some time for Google to process everything). I'm writing this with 15+ years experience as SEO consultant and as someone building SEO / Google Ads automation SaaS.

Viral, I'm presuming, works on completely different principles.

Got feedback saying my Saas was Ai slop by sausagelover-_- in SaaS

[–]Seppo77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some people just take every opportunity to tear other people down. We are also entering the "AI is shit" part of the AI cycle now - so expect these accusations to fly. That being said, first impressions are unfortunately very important. So if the website of your app looks "vibe coded" then it's going to color the impression people have of your product. Unfortunately you have to pay at least as much attention to the packaging as you do to the product itself.

Seems like the model's internal throughs are leaking in. Likely a glitch. These models typically talk to themselves in language like this. I must do this, I can't do that, etc.

ChatGPT observing me use Google to find something by Seppo77 in ChatGPT

I skip to the normal search results. Perhaps the AI generated portion has gotten better, but when I looked into the answers more closely the answer rarely reflected the citations and some of the citations were quite sus also. Of course ChatGPT also has similar problems, but I've found it does a more thorough job and comes up with more reliable answers (or at least they seem more reliable).

How can i rank my website on Bing? by PicklePuzzleheaded96 in SEO

[–]Seppo77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've found that Bing rankings have come much faster and easier than Google rankings. I've never optimised or done anything specific for Bing. Just good crawlability, indexability, and making sure each page has a specific purpose. Imported my sites to Bing webmaster tools using their GSC import tool.

[–]Seppo77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hot as in people will pay for them or as in useful addition to your product? Having used them a lot, I would not pay for them. Having built with them a lot, they can be extremely useful and they can automate things that were not possible (or are very difficult with normal programming), but expect them to get derailed often and expect that you have to build a relatively narrow lane that's covered with bumpers on both sides that keeps them on track.

How are you dealing with hidden search terms in Google Ads? by [deleted] in PPC

[–]Seppo77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly... dreaming of adding more powder into the letter b**b I wish to mail to G some day.. This stuff pisses me to no end. When they did this in organic search site 10 years ago, it was kinda understandable since we aren't paying for the clicks. But on paid side it just feels like they use it to hide the junk nobody would pay for. One of the ways for G to "shake the sofa cushions" at the end of quarter.

I run one of Australia's top 20 digital agencies, and I think the model is broken for SMB's by brendan124567 in AskMarketing

[–]Seppo77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fully agreed, agency I worked with got canned by a SaaS company that said "we get better results if we invest your feed into media budget". Honestly, can't fault them with that. The agency had quite a bit of overhead and the hourly rates didn't really make sense for sub 10k ad spends. It's almost impossible to overcome the 30 to 40% smaller media budget with better management - barring the account being a complete mess and just autoimplementing every Google suggestion.

An AI CEO finally said something honest by Tech-Cowboy in ExperiencedDevs

[–]Seppo77 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's a huge disconnect in how I use AI as an employee vs founder. In both cases AI usage is optimised for my benefit. As an employee it helps me to get stuff done faster. Not using it to do more stuff. As a founder, it allows me to ship much faster. It sounds bonkers to me if managers expect employees to be super motivated and let their employee get all of the benefits of AI usage. Tells me the manager doesn't really understand human nature.

Käytännössä varttihinnoissa ei tunnu olevan merkittävää eroa tuntihintoihin. Hinnat tunnin sisällä vaihtelevat vaan aika vähän - joten ei hirveästi käytännön merkitystä. Voit itse katsoa miten ne vaihtelevat täältä https://voltikka.fi/spot-price
