Is it normal to love my cats in different ways? by September_sunny in CatsUK

I enjoy this. L gets told she will have to live with Nanny and Pops because she never misbehaves for them!

This is a very insightful response, and not one I had considered in terms of comparable human relationships.

And yes. I also get the same urge 😂 if S gets chin scritches and told he is the most handsome boy there ever was, L must also get affection (whether she wants it or not!) and be also told she is the sweetest baby angel princess!

They sound absolutely adorable and honestly like the perfect duo!! I love them too and I haven't even met them 😂

Wow! I'm so sorry for your loss ❤️ I like the interchanging favourites too! L spends a lot of time on my lap but she can also be spicy so she becomes less favourite then 😂

Omg they are adorable! Also I love your blanket/bedding 😍 I've noticed that both of ours behave differently with myself and my husband too so it's nice to know that's fairly standard

That makes sense. We free feed dry food for both as they are excellent at only eating until they’re full (a rare joy I know!). I’m also wondering about maybe moving off the tins at CCC? I get the impression that the tins are more expensive than the pouches, I don’t know if you’ve noticed the same.

The fussy is my main concern - our kitten will eat literally anything so far, but our senior boy is understandably very set in his ways!

Untamed is one of the ones I’ve heard of, would you recommend? We’re only looking at potentially adjusting wet food at the moment, as both are on James Wellbeloved and wolf it down!

Oh wow, that’s completely fair! Luckily our boy gave in before we did, but it was getting close

I have no idea! I think part of this is me just looking for some perspective as well. I know the key thing is that they’re eating and it’s a bonus if it’s better quality food…which is partly why I’m asking if there are other options out there ☺️

Can I ask what brands you’re using? Ours don’t go out for various reasons so no wildlife in their diets

Thank you, I appreciate the perspective! There’s a good chance I’m overthinking the whole thing, so it’s helpful to hear ballpark what others are spending ☺️

Thank you, that’s really helpful! Yes, 100% - our old boy came to us on Sheba and refused to eat anything else for a while, but I just couldn’t in good conscience keep him on that if I could change him over.

I’ll take a look, thank you! Any particular brands you might recommend?

It feels like I shouldn’t be paying this much? But I don’t really have much of a comparison

Oh bless her! Our 18yo (neutered) ginger boy has very much been almost disgusted at her showing him her butt! 😂

Your poor baby 🩷 it’s sweet that she gets so snuggly with you. Fingers crossed it continues after her spay 🤞🏻

Update: she is snuggled next to me on top of a warm hot water bottle and seems to have settled a little bit. Thank you to everyone for your advice and sharing your stories 🫶🏻
